"PARA" is a classic auxiliary motor sailor with a great history. Built as a pleasure craft in 1929 for a successful Adelaide printer by Searles of Port Adelaide for sea cruising S. A. Waters she is very strong with laminated ribs, jarrah bottom and New Zealand kauri topsides. Extensive renovations have been done recently and include much work that cannot be seen such as inner and outer stern bearings remanufactured, couplings and drive shaft and prop replacement so that you can cruise with confidence. The wheelhouse has been completely replaced looking the same as the original but using epoxy glue and marine ply bracings to improve the rigidity and water ingress.
The interior has been reconfigured bring in the head amidships from the foc'sle and adding a shower. There is a double V berth forward, a drop down dining table providing another double in the main saloon and 2 single berths. The galley and seating has been professionally remodelled, creating a more user friendly space but buit in keeping with the original timbers. New gas cooker with appropriate gas alarm and solenoid on gas bottle fully compliant.
Chain steering has been replaced with a Hydrive hydraulic system and a Coursemaster autopilot. Decks have been covered with 9mm ply epoxied on and covered with glass cloth and epoxy and the cabin tops with cloth and epoxy also.
