|Calling all diesel power boat enthusiasts! The team at John Crawford Marine have uncovered this true family / fishing 6.7m fiberglass blue water rig powered by a 2013 Volvo D3 160Hp turbo charged diesel powered stern drive.
The Lifestyle 6700 Allrounder as the name implies, is a boat unique in design to offer industry leading stability and yet retains the qualities of a soft landing ride in choppy waters. Lifestyle boats are made on the Sunshine Coast here in SE Queensland and their webpage not only offers a lot of information but has some great video footage of on the water and in coastal bar crossing use.
As our photos depict this boat can be great day boat for the family with the comfortable cockpit seating in place, under the driver's seat is a small portable gas butane stove and under the passenger seat is the small sink with pressurised water along with ample storage for the rations and utensils. All under the shade provided by the additional stainless steel framed tropical cockpit shade cover.
The transom area is uncluttered and if swimming and snorkelling is your thing, the swim platforms and boarding ladder will allow easy access back onto the boat. The transom area also has a small freshwater held shower to wash the briny or sand of you or the children.
The cabin is voluminous and comfortable with deep cushions, plenty of head room and a electric toilet offers a degree of further comforts for the family aboard. For privacy and security, the cabin has a bi-fold door that can be locked closed. Under the bunk cushions, storage abounds via the perimeter of the cabin side storage shelves.
If fishing is your thing, the cockpit side chairs are easily removable, to open up the cockpit and transom area. The bait board is large and has a "defrost" shelf under the cutting board, a salt water deck wash is on board to assist with keeping the deck area clean. Neatly in the starboard aft quarter is the recess where the dual battery system is installed, off the floor and very easily accessible. High top sides offer a feeling of security especially if rolling around in the offshore swell. If you are hooked onto the big one, full 360 degree access around the boat is available with wide side decks around the cabin!
Seldom found in trailer boats but often wanted is diesel power. This rig was repowered in 2013 with a new Volvo D3 160Hp 5 cylinder turbo diesel engine that has since recorded less than 10 hours use. The motor is linked to a stern drive duo-prop leg pushing this rig with efficiency and reliability that only a diesel power plant can offer. What a rig for the 1770 or offshore weekend reef fishing trip??
The rig is trailered on a Lifestyle Boats in house made tandem trailer. These trailers are made for self-launch and retrieve by drive on and off at the ramp. The rig will weigh in excess of 2 tonne so a large 4WD will be required if you elect to tow her. The trailer is fitted with a Sensa Brake braking system and 4 wheel brakes.
