|This is an excellent live aboard vessel, ready to go cruising up the coast or further afield. Ideally set up for 2 + 2, this cat is easily sailed single handed. (Sailed solo up and down the Qld coast for two years.)
Based on a popular Peter Snell design, this cat has been modified to achieve the following :-
>> Better performance – Wider beam, deeper mini keels, and finer sheeting angles.
>> More cabin space and greater head room – Raised topsides, more rake on cabin front and sides, increased LOA.
>> Elimination bridge deck pounding and slamming –Raised bridge deck, (800mm bridge deck clearance ) angled underside of outboard pods.
>> Elimination of leaks through deck – Composite chainplates, mooring cleats, stuchion sockets and forward beam.
>> Increased stability and reduced hobby horsing – Wider beam, (6.1M) water tanks under the hull floors, anchor chain and winch moved to the mast base.
>> Looks improved – More angle (rake) on cabin sides and front, raised and continuous deck.
>> Attractive and functional targa bar/davit arrangement to carry 3*80w solar panels and a 3M dinghy.
>>Twin Honda 20 hp outboards, with tilt and trim, give excellent control when docking and effortless cruising.
The live aboard and cruising features of this boat are designed to give safe, trouble free operation. All fittings, plumbing and wiring are easily accessible to avoid annoying maintenance and repair difficulties. Sail control is easy and convenient with adequate self tailing winches. Motors can be raised and lowered quickly using the tilt and trim controls. Twin tillers make light work of long passages using a simple linear drive autopilot. Galley-up, and a large, comfortable cockpit ensure entertaining guests is easy and convenient. More than adequate storage and 360l of water make extended cruises possible without frequent resupplying.
