(Manufacturer Provided description) 'The PDQ 32 offers tremendous speed and sleek design, easy singlehanded sailing, enough room for two couples and the kids, and PDQ engineering that puts safety first. Built of acrylic-modified epoxy resin and vacuum-bagged for strength and structural integrity, the PDQ 32 is made for sailing anywhere in any weather - with a near absence of heeling. Quite simply, she represents the cutting edge of nautical design and high-tech craftsmanship. Featuring a unique center-cockpit layout, she is both comfortable and practical with interior space equivalent to a 40-foot monohull. Luxury is evident throughout: hand-crafted cherry wood, the best hardware and tasteful fabric selections. Two spacious owner cabins each feature double-berths with reading lights, four hanging lockers, clothing drawers and a vanity with upholstered seat. Then there's the galley, equipped with three-way refrigeration, two-burner stove, double sink, cutting boards and abundant stowage above and below the countertops. The deluxe head with shower is totally washable. The vanity sink, cherry medicine cabinet with mirror, opening port and extra storage all combine to make a bright, modern facility. In the main saloon a panoramic window affords a beautiful dinner setting for up to eight guests. Extra-large side ports open for plenty of ventilation, and the cherry wood table converts to a useful double bed. To starboard, a functional nav station, with upholstered pilot seat, is designed for the modern skipper. The PDQ 32 comes in both Classic and Long Range Cruiser (LRC) models. The Classic is designed with twin four-cycle retractable engines, self-tacking jib system, a fully-battened mainsail with single-line reefing system, Harken self-tailing winches and deck hardware. The long list of standard features on every PDQ 32 includes refrigeration, pressure water system, stove, convertible saloon table and much more. For the long-distance adventurer, the PDQ 32 LRC has everything for extended cruising: powerful twin diesel engines, high-output alternators, stainless steel bow protection and a davit package for the dinghy. But no matter which model you choose, there's a full line of useful options - from air-conditioning to radar - to enhance the remarkable PDQ 32 for you. '
The PDQ Catamaran is a very popular yacht in the North of the US and Canada, where sailing can often be very challenging, with strong currents and adverse weather are often the norm. With a gravity centre pushed as far aft as possible without compromising her sailing capabilities, the PDC Capella 32 was designed with safety in mind, with two large storage lockers forward also doubling as collision bulkheads, a deep and well protected cockpit, strong crossbeams, good reserve buoyancy forward, lower position on the water to avoid wind tunnelling while still providing a satisfactory height for comfort in the seaway.
The PDQ's award winning interior design is quite extraordinary in the way it manages to use the space, which in spite of the forward storage hatches in the bows still leaves an enormous amount of room in spite of her little 34' hulls.
The cockpit and steerage is agreeably on close enough levels to each other to enable the skipper and crew to keep each otehr company when steering, unlike many other catamarans whose steering station rises high above the cockpit, leaving the skipper exposed to the elements as well as removed from his family or guests. The cockpit gives access to the aft section with its large storage lockers, davits and the two boarding stairs molded in the hulls, making 'Natuna' a safe boat to board from a dinghy or after a swim.
Forward, the cockpit flows into the saloon, with its pleasant dinette sitting 6 comfortably, with as-new upholstery and beautifully varnished table, which slides down if needed to make transfer the saloon into a large double bed (please note that the infill cushion is not included). The settees also offer good storage. Lighting and ventilation is excellent, with the whole aft section of the saloon roof sliding forward to allow for higher headroom in the traffic areas of the saloon, as well as offering a beautiful cross-breeze when combined with the opened forward and side hatches. This also enables the skipper and guests to continue to communicate or see each other when under-way.
Another night place to relax is the forward section of the yacht, with its strong trampoline, and intelligently situated storage boxes along the cabin front, which have their own tailored cushions and can be used as comfy seats or sun beds.
Going back into the cabin, to the port of the saloon is access to the galley down a few small steps, and to the guest cabin with its beautiful latex queen size bed with brand new linen and bedding, a bed also offering a good headroom for those who enjoy sitting up reading in bed, and enough opening hatches to guarantee a cool and ventilated area.
The galley, which is U shape and equipped with a brand new fridge - freezer, is almost as large as the one you have at home (except it is 12V), a good size stove and separate oven, sink with pressurized hot and cold water, and plenty of storage.
Designed to be the master-side of the boat, the starboard hull of the boat is built to maximise the comfort of the owner. The cabin, if it is the mirror image of the port cabin, with its latex sensational bed, fresh new linen and opening hatches, is situated next to a well though -of navigation area with fold-down table, settee and access to navigation and electrical equipment.
Forward of the navigation area is the head, which is of a good size and equipped with a marine toilet, hot and cold shower, vanity and storage.
Be quick! Priced to sell fast as the owners are now busy with other projects, this capable and comfortable multihull is a rare find, especially as multihull in this price range are almost un-heard off, unless made of plywood, are custom-made or equipped with outboard engines. This is a proper production boat, with proven sea-keeping and cruising qualities and presented to perfection.
