|"Ocean Pearl" is a 16.1m Amel Super Maramu 2000 Millennium.
The Amel Super Maramu are specifically designed for shorthanded offshore passage making.
They incorporate many safety features such as a solid stainless tube top rail around the full boat. And below there are ample hand holds.
Also they are built to a monoque construction method which bonds solid plywood bulkheads to the hull and the decks. The decks are solid glassed to bond to the top sides and cabin bulkheads.
There are five discrete water tight compartments. A collision protection bulkhead forward of the forward cabin. The forward cabin has a rubber gasket door making it water tight, as does the stern cabin. The engine room is central and under the cockpit and is a watertight compartment and finally the huge aft lazurette forms the fifth water tight compartment.
The center cockpit is low set and equipped with hand holds and strong lifeline anchor points. There is vast storage below.
