"Bronzewing" is located in Hobart Tasmania and would have to be one of the oldest classic sailing yachts still sailing. She was first launched in 1895 as a replica of "Challenge" a successful Thames River "One Rater" owned by W. Stewart of England.

In about 1925 she was cut amidships and lengthened to 28ft LWL with the rig converted to Marconi. In 1943 the bow was cut off and the hull was lengthened again and her topsides raised by one plank. In 1952 she was purchased by renowned Tasmanian yachtsmen Jim Hickman and she was again lengthened along with alterations to the bow, stern, keel and cabin. She is still a classic yacht that sails beautifully under her current loving owner who is often seen on the Derwent River single handed.

There is a significant amount of documentation and memorabilia that is included for sale with "Bronzewing".
