|Classic long keel design in solid fibreglass with excellent recent upgrades. "Barquero" was built in NZ and has crossed the Tasmana several times. She is a strongly built vessel and the addition of a hard dodger makes her a very comfortable and safe cruiser. In the past 5 years much money has been spent; the boat has been rewired, the hull repainted, new electronics installed and the engine rebuilt.
H28s are renowned as bullet-proof yachts. They have cruised offshore and several have sailed around the world. If you are looking for a really safe, seakindly yacht to start your sailing adventure and want a lot of boat for a modest price you really should look at "Barquero".
Don't forget - an important part of buying and owning a boat is loving the way it looks. With her dark blue hull and graceful sheer, "Barquero" will always attract attention. Contact us to arrange inspection.

||L. Francis Herreshoff's parameters when designing the H28 were:
1. Maximum room for the cost without sacrificing looks and speed.
2. A shape that should stay entirely tight even if exposed to considerable strain or twisting.
3. A draft deep enough to allow good windward performance in heavy weather
4. A draft shallow enough to avoid the need to row miles to shore when anchored in a picturesque bay.
The enormous success of the design proved that he had got it right on all counts. Click Special Presentation above to learn all about these wonderful yachts.
