Over the last 12 months we have been overwhelmed by the incredible amount of enquiries about Ambrosia and have had 3 couples fly up to Borneo from Australia and Singapore for a viewing. Built to Lloyds of London certification in 1988 and Australian registered, Ambrosia is a contemporary designed, ocean-proven cruiser from world-renown Swedish builders Najad Yachts and bears all the hallmarks of Najad's long and respected reputation for solid, craftsman-built, dependable and extremely sea worthy and owner friendly world cruisers.
With just three owners since commission, Ambrosia has cruised much of the globe and whether island hopping Australia's coastal waters; Pacific and Atlantic crossings; exploring the Mediterranean; the Indian subcontinent or in more recent years, SE Asia - Ambrosia has exceeded every one of her crew's expectations providing a totally independent lifestyle of comfort, style and safety - whether far out at sea, snug in a marina or floating serenely in a far-flung, exotic anchorage.
For the last 15 years Ambrosia has been the cherished home of her current owners and as a former senior technical/ instructor with the Australian Army School of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, her skipper has been fastidious in maintaining and continuously updating Ambrosia and her equipment including regular slipping and antifouling every 16 months.
Ambrosia's overlaid teak decks were completely replaced in 2006, with the laminated GRP cored deck beneath having all previous screw holes filled and sealed. The new teak deck was then professionally glued and bedded down guaranteeing the GRP deck beneath maintained its watertight integrity. Unlike many teak decks, they'll be no broken plugs, leaking screw heads and the yearly repairs to contend with on Ambrosia!
With her solid, hand laid GRP hull and cored GRP topsides and deck plus extensive use of warm, solid mahogany cabinetry below - Ambrosia is arguably one of the most solid and dependable blue water cruising vessels you'll find anywhere in her size and class.
Ambrosia's sails are in almost mint condition and many lines and sheets were recently replaced with spectra. Rigging was professionally replaced Sept 2015 and her Volvo Penta MD31A with just 4000 hrs. Runs like a dream.
Her deep, spacious and well-protected cockpit with its roll up clears for total enclosure in adverse weather seats 6 comfortably and with all sheets and lines returning to the helm area, it's the perfect set up for short handed sailing.
Below decks you'll find a large volume, beautifully finished, solid screwed and plugged, mahogany interior with well-ventilated, light and open living areas.
Ambrosia boasts full 6'2' headroom - from her substantial queen-size aft cabin and ensuite; her generous galley with substantial bench tops; spacious and recently reupholstered salon - right through to her large forward V berth and ensuite heads.
Professionally rewired with 240-shore power distributed throughout via integrated circuit breakers and double pole switching, Ambrosia also features two x 225 A/H Gel house batteries plus a new Gel starter battery. Combine this with Ambrosia's wind generator, 4 x 85W solar panels and a towable generator and you've got power to go.
With her large steering wheel, chain/cable quadrant controls, large bronze bushed rudder stock and well balanced rudder, Ambrosia's steering provides fingertip control and a level of response that will amaze making Ambrosia a pleasure to sail in any conditions.

||Extensively outfitted with self tailing Lewmar winches: Cockpit - 2 x Lewmar 52's & 2 x Lewmar 34's; Main Mast - 2 x Lewmar 30's; Mizzen - 1 x Lewmar 7. Clean and uncluttered decks with double-bolted high stanchions and plenty of handholds. Ambrosia's stern deck feature two large, deep and sealed lasserets for storing all your excess gear. On the stern rail you'll also find the Force 10 barbecue and a stern gate leading to the sugar scoop and deck shower. Suspended from its custom designed and strong S/S foldout arch you'll find the 2.7m Cholamark hyperlon RIB with a choice of 3.3 or 6HP outboards, which can be easily launched and retrieved via an integrated pulley system operated from the rear deck.|
