Wayfarer is a Passport 40, a 12m Cruising yacht, built in Taiwan in 1984 with the electrics installation being carried out in America. Wayfarer was sold at the Sydney Boat show in 1985 and featured in an article in the Sailboat Tests magazine in that year. A copy of this review is available on request.
The Passport 40 was designed by Robert Perry well known worldwide for a number of his designs, and built in Taiwan under the supervision of Wendell Rankin also well known in the sailing fraternity.
The Passport 40's strength is reaching and running combined with a thoughtful and functional interior - perfect for the cruising yachtsman.
It has superb live-aboard comfort. Below decks is where Wayfarer comes into its own with meticulous attention to detail both in design and finish. Solid teak and white contrast to provide a light and stylish ambience throughout.
The head is well laid out with a smart vanity and a separate self-contained shower unit with standing headroom.
Access to the engine is superb with the engine being located under the saloon table with inspection doors on 3 sides, enabling checks to be easily made. The table and engine cover can be easily and totally removed for all round access to the engine area if needed.
There is ample storage throughout the vessel.
