|1981 - A Laurent-Giles design, Gentleman Centre Cockpit Motor Sailer. Rigged as ketch for ease for sail handling. Vendor has owned her since 1992. This yacht has done a trip to Vanuatu, several trips to Lord Howe Island from Sydney, entered in the Lord Howe Island races, sailed the Whitsundays, Pittwater and when in Victoria, did several trips to Tasmania and Flinders Island Group and a circumnavigation of Tasmania. A very safe and comfortable vessel.

TO QUOTE VENDOR'S OWN WORDS -
This is a yacht you don't need !
There is absolutely no need to have a Yacht which is registered at Lloyds of London ; registered as an Australian ship ; and on the register at Laurent Giles and partners as the only steel Salar 40 ever approved. The Salar is known as the Gentleman's Cruising Yacht !!
Who needs two private cabins each with shower with hot and cold water, toilet, hand basin. Great galley with 4 burner stove, oven, fridge, freezer and plenty of storage ?
Who really needs a very comfortable saloon with good music and lighting to while away the time while the skipper works out where you are in the separate navigating area.
There are wimps who like the warmth and comfort of the semi enclosed pilothouse, but the real men can roam the wide decks to enjoy the spray in their faces while trimming the easily handled ketch rig. The yacht is very comprehensively equipped and will be ready for sea upon sale. Inspect easily now while it is on the hard !
But why would anyone want a two bedroomed apartment with water views in sunny Sydney, the Whitsundays or Cairns or whereveer they wanted to motor sail it ????? After 23 years of ownership, I am prepared to sell either whole or in a share arrangment and can assist with movement of the ship anywhere on the East coast or Darwin. UNQUOTE
