|Dancer is a very special, one off yacht, built in 1965 by A&R. She was designed as a CCA ocean racer [ex-Avenir] by Bill Tripp and is a sister to Ondine II, one of the most famous ocean racers ever. These designs have proven over time, to be the most capable and comfortable yachts for ocean cruising.
The current owners have cruised 100,000 miles over 29 years, with just the two of them onboard. They find her to be an easy, forgiving yacht to sail. She has been maintained with the best materials and workmanship possible. An 18 month refit was completed in New Zealand in 2014 with $95,000 spent on parts and supplies not including labour.
Dancer is the perfect yacht for a couple or family to cruise, long enough to comfortably knock off 200 mile days, but easy enough for one person on watch to handle. Her incredibly strong hull and top quality sail handling gear are a great peace of mind when you are thousands of miles from port. She is always the most beautiful yacht in any anchorage she visits.
