Nominated European Yacht of the Year Award 2008 (under 14m)

Simply the best 40-footer on the water!

Yes! Without compromise, this model will more than satisfy the most demanding boy/girl racer and cruising family too.

The Rob Humphreys designed Elan 410 is a brilliant Crossover that unquestionably offers the best performance/ design and all round package in her class.

You can count on real sailing enjoyment with response and character combined with unmatched performance and cruising comfort.

Elan and Rob Humphreys continue to etch a distinct and exciting niche in their Cruiser Racer / Crossover line up with a brilliant integration of elements - high quality, the best looking boats with designer comforts below deck and dazzling performance reports on the competitive front.

The Elan 410 is designed for exhilarating short-handed or fully crewed sailing to deliver rich rewards for the club racer who wants to be ultra competitive in the 40 to 45 foot range in IRC. Ultimately a great boat both for Hammo/Coffs/ Sydney regattas etc with a brilliant sail back along the coast and at the same time, a sophisticated cruising yacht with high level facilities and comfort to be enjoyed by the family too.

Out on the water the Elan 410 has been commanding a great deal of respect once again proving their pedigree on the water. And it is that Cruiser Racer pedigree and fine tuning that has long been so fundamental to Humphreys' design ideals - and he just does it so well.

Yachting World describes the Elan 410, "She is one of those boats that just looks right - your eye insists that she will sail well… the huge wheel gives plenty of power and never feels overloaded... steering is swift and precise” ( lock to lock).

And that's just what this model has been brilliantly doing in some recent big races:
1st Place - Skandia Cowes Week - Class 2 IRC
1st in class - Simrad OneStar
2nd overall - Watski Two Star
1st - Garmin Hamble Series Div IRC 1

Humphreys design is truly masterful; his configuration of the keel, rudder, rig and hull design produces a well-balanced yacht with optimum weight distribution, excellent response and remarkably high level of stability.

This is the pure satisfying pleasure of having it all-in-one whether you have racing or cruising in mind, the Humphreys' masterful hallmark is ever present, keeping the traditional spirit of true sailing alive and what a true sailing boat should be.

Designed for top level performance, the Elan 410 is fast and responsive in light wind and easily handles various weather conditions, fully crewed or short-handed.

3-D vacuum infused. The hulls and decks are constructed with vacuum infusion lamination resulting in a superior fibre to resin ratio that cannot be achieved with hand lamination. The hull to deck and hull to grid joints are bonded and taped with the hull to deck joint also bolted through. Vinylester resin is used in the outer layers below the waterline for long term osmosis protection.

German mainsheet system, powerful winches, extensive use of roller bearing blocks and a large diameter steering wheel for easy handling. The Elan range of Crossover boats are more effortlessly sailed than a standard rigged boat. The boats are equipped with an exceptionally high level of deck equipment as Standard. The equipment gearing is greater and this means less physical effort for use by the cruising family too.

Windward: The ability to achieve close windward angles.

Downwind: The boat's design with superior stability and generous stern configuration gives the boat ability to produce good running numbers.

Offshore: The 410 is a very impressive powerful combination for those who wish to push hard or cruise to your destination much quicker

Short-handed: The boat is set up for easily adaptable short-handed sailing and is easy to handle for the cruising family. The sail plan with non overlapping headsails is designed for true performance.

Elan Polar graphs (for hull speeds) STIX calculations and AVS stability test results are readily available. These are important documents that all prospective buyers should know and understand and request to view in order to obtain a true indication of the sailing ability/speed and stability of a boat.
