Windcraft Group MD Peter Hrones reviews Dusseldorf ‘Boot’ 2014 and looks ahead to 2014

Go Back to Newsfeed Windcraft Group MD Peter Hrones reviews Dusseldorf ‘Boot’ 2014 and looks ahead to 2014 Peter Hrones is the MD and founder of the Windcraft Group; dealers of Hanse Group, Solaris, Seaway and Buizen yachts and is just back from the massive Dusseldorf boat show. He shares his view of the show and takes a look at the year ahead for Windcraft.

In Peter’s own words.

‘The show was huge this year with 17 halls filled to the brim. It seems that yacht sales are very healthy everywhere - many people I chatted to have had their best year yet. The Hanse Group is now buidling around 550 yachts per year with the factory working on double shifts.

The busiest boat at the show was the new Moody 54DS. The galley-up design with separate bar area was particularly well received – a couple of owners even changed their order to this configuration when they saw the boat. 10 are now sold with the first to heading to Australia in time for SIBS.

The Hanse Group also launched the Dehler 46 and Hanse 675 at the show. The Dehler 46 follows the design of the hugely successful, award-winning Dehler 38 and will be perfect for those who want to race but also use the boat for family weekends away. With the 675, I really like the lines of the boat, the massive number of opening hatches and the choice of interior layouts.

Over on the Solaris display we reviewed the new 58. The layout of this boat is really nice with the galley forward. The finish quality is the high standard you expect from Solaris. We have a Solaris 42 heading our way for SIBS this year.

Greenline were also really well represented with a fantastic stand. It was good to jump on the new Greenline 48 and see the easy walkway up to the flybridge and the well-shaded cockpit. 10 are now sold with ex-factory deliver now January 2015. Eyachts will have a 48 available for immediate delivery after SIBS.

I'm happy to say that 2013 to 2014 will be Windcraft Group’s best year ever with over 115 new and second-hand boats sold. It seems that as the Hanse Group grows, Windcraft grows, keeping a steady 9-10% of their global market share.

We are really looking forward to Sydney boat show and presenting the Moody 54DS, Solaris ONE 42, Greenline 48 Hybrid, Hanse 505, Hanse 575 Hull#100 and the Dehler 38. We also have a very exciting community promotion being released at the end of March with our partners at SWD (Sailors with disabilities).
