Back in 1977 David Bray cofounded Sydney Sailboat Centre which became Australia’s biggest retailer of off-the-beach multihulls including Hobiecat, Windrush and Maricat. David, a Hobie sailor, competed in the inaugural Hobie 16 Worlds in Hawaii in 1976. In the late 70’s SSC sponsored a young Rod Waterhouse and Kerry Wood who this year as Mr & Mrs Waterhouse crowned their Hobie career by winning the 2010 Hobie 16 World Masters contested in China. In 1985 Rod and Kerry built a Crowther 10M and sailed to San Francisco, USA. Since then Rod and Kerry have completed thousands of ocean miles in both mono and multihulls from Europe and the U.S. Multihulls in the past 10 years have become a major force in the production yacht market both for private and charter use… and now it’s a multihull America’s Cup… Again! DBY with David, Rod and the team, now bring 33 years of yacht broking experience to the Multihull arena on Pittwater servicing both the local and interstate multihull community as well as international clients both offshore and at the end of their cruise to Australia.
