The Perry 43 is one of the most popular Australian catamaran designs! These catamarans are known for their strong build and sprightly performance. This private syndicate allows you to enjoy the best of Queensland, the Whitsunday Islands and the Gold Coast. Catalyst is a 2003 "Highline" model with 4 spacious cabins and suitable for up to ten persons on overnight sailing cruises. Originally built for commercial survey conditions, Catalyst has been meticulously maintained. She features a large saloon, three bathrooms, lower galley with easy access and a good modern ergonomic flow around the boat.
The Catalyst syndicate is a turn key solution to your boating needs. It has a maximum of 6 owners; the syndicate is divided into an innovative two shareholding types to suit sailors with little or a lot of experience. The three Primary Shareholders each get 10 weeks or 70 days usage per annum. The Secondary Shareholders have 6 weeks or 42 days usage per annum.
Catalyst will be moored at Hamilton Island Marina (8 months - April to November) and the Gold Coast (4 months - December to March). The delivery is undertaken by the Primary Shareholders. All Shareholders are required to book the Catalyst via the booking system.
The three Primary Shareholders will have the sole responsibility of the management of the Catalyst. This includes all financial management, maintenance management, relocation and any other associated management decisions (Vessel location etc. ).
The Secondary Shareholder option is a unique Syndicate option developed for those that are time poor or have limited sailing experience but would appreciate the opportunity to be part of a professional sailing Syndicate without the added requirements and responsibilities of maintenance or management. All Secondary Shareholders will be required to undertake an initial two day briefing onboard the Vessel with a Primary Shareholder before being able to take charge of the Vessel. If required this time can be extended and additional briefing can be undertaken. There is a comprehensive manual aboard and up to date safety equipment is aboard.
The Syndication is based on a clear and concise agreement, which has a share register defining how ownership is shared. The agreement protects each owner from liabilities, subject to conditions of usage, however each owner is responsible for any damage (or insurance excess) when the vessel is under their control.
The agreement allows you to dispose of your shares, so you are free to market and sell your ownership in the vessel, first offering their share back to the Syndicate for an agreed amount. The valuation of Catalyst will be based upon the current insured value which is currently $385,000. Please call for more details about the agreement.
The syndicate operates a bank account for the purpose of holding funds to operate and maintain the vessel. Each Shareholder will deposit via direct debit the sum of $100 per week ($5,200 annually) into the Syndicate operating account to ensure there are sufficient funds to cover all associated costs with general maintenance, mooring fees and operating expenses (insurance etc. ). Financial and management statement will be emailed to each Shareholder to ensure transparency regularly. An AGM will be held onboard every December where owners agree an annual budget for the vessel.
