For those of you in the know you would be familiar with the the Conquest hull. Back in the early nineties Northport Marina, old home to Sea Chrome Marine, was a sea of these hulls as they churned them out for the rock lobster industry. Designed to carry tonnes of pots on the rear deck and cruise efficiently and safely in our often unforgiving sea breezes.

From time to time savvy recreational boat owners would pick up on the idea of using a commercial hull for recreation. This is one of those boats. Her current owner commissioned well know builder Dave Richards of Shipwrights of Deloy back in 1995 to built the boat of his dreams. From here Destiny was born

Twenty two years and countless memories of relaxing and enjoying family and friends out on the water, her owner has decided to move on to other adventures.

Destiny is a true entertainer - an enormous Burmese teak laid rear deck fit to host any soiree, double doors opening into the main saloon which has party written all over it! Sound system and bar complete the package.

Above the cockpit is a structurally sound fibreglass hardtop for permanent shade and strong enough to stand on.

By installing the V-drive gearboxes the engines were able to be located under the rear deck enabling two cabins to be fitted where the engines would normally be located with conventional drives. A tactic that many luxury brands such as Sunseeker adopted. Accommodation is therefore generous with 10 guests dispersed over four cabins - three queen size berth in amidship cabin plus four bunk beds in the bow. The option is now there to knock down the dividing partition, pop a couple of hull windows in and end up with a full width master stateroom.

The hull and superstructure is a foam / fibreglass sandwich construction designed to save weight and therefore improve economy.

While her owner had visions of steaming to the Abrohlos Islands he never actually got there. Destiny proved such a great platform for Rottnest Island the family couldn't see any reason why you would journey further.... Hense the low engine hours.

I've fallen in love with this boat because of her simplicity. The hull is big enough to avoid compromising or living areas, accommodation and engineering.

All in all, a fabulous setup for individual or share downership.
