"Pintail" is a motor sailer based on the hull design of classic Finnish fishing boats. The final design by Viking Marine in Gosford improved comfort and made the accommodation more liveable for local conditions. She has an easily driven, seaworthy displacement hull which perfectly matches the three cylinder, 22 hp Yanmar diesel motor.

The Finn 8 has a small forward cabin with two bunks and a Porta Potti (currently unused). The wheel house has two settee bunks and a folding table. Standing head room. Galley (stove and sink) is hidden under the wheel house seats. As I use "Pintail" as a day boat, I never have used the newly installed two burner stove (gas bottle not included). I instead I use a camper stove. Ditto for the sink which has pressurised water from two large bladders which are presently not in use.

The centre cockpit is perfect for fishing and just relaxing. When you are behind the wheel you are in a good position to watch the ankle biters in the cockpit in front of you.
She carries a mast with a main and a furling head sail. When the sea breeze comes up and you like to do a bit of trolling, you just unfurl the jib and cut the engine. Peace!
The mast can easily be lowered on its tabernacle. If sailing is not your thing, the whole rig is easily stored at home and kept ready for future use.

The previous owner, who is a diesel engineer, prepared the boat for his retirement and did a great deal of mechanical and other work. He changed plans and sold me the boat. I have done cosmetic work and had further electrical work done professionally. Details are available.
The engine is located mid-ships under the cockpit. Access is very good making maintenance a breeze.

As a result "Pintail" is in good condition. My reason for selling is that I like to go back to pure sailing.
