Designed by Harvey Halvorsen this rare 32 foot cruiser blends classic style with practicality for care-free enjoyment afloat. Fibreglass construction offers easy maintenance while varnished features emphasise the traditional lines that have universal appeal. Indigo attracts compliments wherever she goes.
A large boarding platform with a railing and a transom door make boarding safe and easy. The cockpit has a teak-lined sole over a large storage lazarette. The covers are like new and roll up easily. The saloon is welcoming, light and spacious with extensive teak cabinetry in the admired Halvorsen manner. An L-shaped dinette forward to port converts to a double berth. Aft of that is a cabinet with a TV/DVD above and with a microwave oven and storage below. To starboard is a galley complete with two-burner gas stove and oven/griller, a sink with pressure hot and cold water plus lots more storage. In front of the galley is a helm seat with excellent visibility and comfort for the skipper to either sit or stand; the seat itself hinges forward to give extra galley bench space above a 240/12 volt fridge/freezer.
A gorgeous traditional wooden ships wheel is a feature of the fully equipped helm station with engine gauges, radar, GPS/Plotter, sonar/depthsounder, auto pilot and VHF radio. Dual house batteries have a large solar panel and there is a separate engine battery; an inverter powers the TV and 240 outlets along with the microwave. Shore power also runs a battery charger and water heater. Bow and stern thrusters aid handling in confined spots such as marinas.
A shaft-drive Cummins 315hp diesel with 810 hours recorded is in a roomy easy-access engine bay and gives quiet and effortless cruising at around 8 knots with a top speed of 13. Fuel consumption averages just 8 litres an hour. Trim tabs allow full control of the running angle at higher speeds.
The forward stateroom features an island double berth and there are separate toilet (to port) and shower (starboard) compartments.
Good side decks and guard rails make it safe to go forward for mooring; an electric winch controls the chain for the anchor secured on the bowsprit while a separate bow roller caters for mooring lines.
A large collection of equipment manuals and servicing invoices shows the excellent maintenance record. Recently anti-fouled and serviced (July), Indigo is in excellent condition and ready to go. In the last 12 months we have cruised 130 hours, so this is not the typical lacking-in-use question mark so often seen for sale. A detailed Owners Manual and colour-coded main switch panel will speed familiarisation as you learn the wonders of your new boat.
