I regularly get asked why I love boating so much? And my answer is always the same boating is simply about lifestyle, sharing those precious moments with family and friends watching the kids growing up swimming of the back of the boat at Rottnest, or Carnac island or pulling a mooring to watch the sky show in the river, the satisfaction of finally pulling up that large fish or simply relaxing with drinks and nibbles with the stereo on sharing old story's with mates till early hours of the morning. But mainly bringing the whole family together for those countless weeks over Christmas floating around in simply paradise on the water at Rotto with loved ones and regular visitors.

Stepping onto lady Ellen through the cleverly design boarding cut out through the safety rails I immediately got the feeling of wow!!! and all of the above thoughts came rushing through my head. This is one amazing vessel simply the size of the vessel is to be admired I immediately felt relaxed and felt like i was boarding a cruise liner to take my next holiday walking down the sides of the boat holding the safety rail I felt very safe and secure even with my five year old daughter who walked down the side of the boat with ease, with a feeling of security knowing she was quite safe and wasn't about to fall over board making me relax even more. Stepping into the main saloon from the side access door you feel the warmth of the vessel immediately with the beautiful warm wood finishes which is everywhere for the eye to see, the workmen ship and quality of the build is amazing, once you get over the wood, the sheer size of the saloon is huge making lounging extremely comfortable with a four seater corner couch and beautiful wooden chest to hide your magazines and DVD you could simply lay back and what the huge flat screen TV.

Eager to see more I continued to the rear of the boat down a fantastically wood finished hall way to the master cabin which was a big as my bedroom at home with a massive queen size bed beautiful wood cabinetry & mirrors heaps of storage and cupboard space and its own rather large ensuite with separate shower and toilet and plenty of room to get ready all situated on the starboard side I was extremely impressed with the layout and size of the bedroom. Stepping back into the aft hallway I then came across the port side aft double bunk house which is no ordinary cramped bunk house this has a built in dresser huge size mirror and once again plenty of space for clothes, i was very impressed and excited to see more walking back up the steps into the saloon and towards the bow of the boat once again stepping down a fantastic wood finished stair case into the formal dining/meals area on the port size with a table that easily would seat six people with once again book shelves fitted for cook books DVD magazines all sort and once again heaps of storage you could help but feel impressed. Directly opposite the meals area is one massive kitchen with once again plenty of space full size fridge and freezer, electric oven and stove hot plate to include a grill, built in microwave and cleverly design so your still can communicate with all the family and friends with out being hidden away.

Moving further forward into the bow of the boat once again you find this generous size v birth bunk house situated at the very front of the boat once again to have its own bathroom with separate toilet and shower and plenty of room to get ready. You have to see it to believe how much space is in this vessel.

Finishing my exploring of underneath the boat I continued upwards to the aft deck and its huge fitted with a giant wooden table with cane couches and chairs all-round the sides for entertaining, once again 3 fabulous wooden chest for storage one of which is actually an esky with rear kitchen fitted with eutectic fridge/freezer and sink and Weber Q barbecue on stand towards the rear of the boat what else do you need. The back deck is simply massive fully enclosed with clears for comfort in any weather & hard top roof makes for no leaks but mainly making entertaining a breeze and easily up to 12 or more guests no problems at all.

Not finished there i went up another set of stairs and into the flybridge and once again this is not small by all counts and definitely is no lonely fly bridge with seats front and to the port side of the drivers helm once again making travelling with friends and family very pleasant. Fitted with new covers to the roof and also new clears giving fantastic views all round this is one very well looked after vessel

While exploring from the fly bridge you have direct access to the hard top that covers the aft deck this is where I found the tender and dinghy davit located with low stainless-steel railing you could easily put another sky deck up there if you wished. Last but not least i explored the front deck and the huge day bed with cushions fitted to the front of the vessel and the teak decks it's just does not feel like you're on a 48-ft boat but once again a small cruise liner.

Heading out to sea for lunch I couldn't help but lean over the rear railing whilst we were cruising along and being so high up gave me a feeling we were really travelling on once again a very large ship and couldn't help but remember those trips to Rottnest when i was a kid with the parents on the ferry knowing we were about to have a great holiday.

All in all, Lady Ellen really lives up to her name as a beautiful elegant lady with plenty of space and if you want the perfect entertaining vessel with the same comforts of home if not better this truly is your vessel. I haven't been on a better family vessel and really is home on the water it doesn't give you that feel like your cramped up or stuck on a boat in any way even the kids disappeared for a while leaving us adults to enjoy a conversation on the aft deck without them but knowing there safe and sound due to what the vessel can offer.

An inspection is a must on this vessel and truly will not disappoint.

We see a lot of boats and both Matt and I are in awe of Lady Ellen. She will be steaming past the windmills on a Friday afternoon for decades to come. At this price she is a bargain. Professionally maintained, well built and incomparable with anything else around.
