Sebranzer, though having been much modified over her 54-year life, is a wonderful example of the wooden boatbuilder's craft. She has proven sea-going capability. As well as cruising the east coast extensively, in 1986, when in Survey, she travelled to Perth as a spectator boat during Australia's failed defence of the America's Cup.

She has been purposefully fitted out by her present owners to be a very comfortable floating home whether berthed on a marina or cruising the Australian coast. With more than $150,000 having been invested in enhancements over the past three years, there is little that needs to be done to make her better for purpose. All this work was professionally done. Sebranzer has the space to accommodate a family, the power, fuel, water supply, refrigeration and storage to remain independent of shore support for prolonged periods and the equipment to keep her crew secure and comfortable whether under way or at anchor.

Under her present ownership many improvements have been added. The old beech decks, although immensely strong, had become increasingly difficult to keep waterproof. So the beech was sanded back, sealed with bitumen epoxy and the decks overlaid with Thermolite composite sheeting which was fibreglassed in place. Painted with non-skid, the decks are now leakproof, rot proof, strong and easy to maintain. The plywood gunwale lining has also been replaced with Thermolite and sealed with fibreglass

The electrical system has been substantially modified and upgraded and a new Kirby refrigeration compressor installed. Installation of a new bank of four AGM house batteries, a 2500W inverter/charger and two 290W solar panels ensure that, with the 11KVA genset there is power to meet all possible needs. The main AC power board has been completely rewired with polarity checking of shore supply and safety circuit breakers installed. Below decks substantial changes were made to plumbing and fuel lines and a holding tank was installed to ensure compliance with all State laws. On-board Wi-Fi was also installed, connected to the Telstra network.

Sebranzer is offered for sale because multiple spinal surgeries have resulted in greatly reducing the skipper's physical capabilities. The extensive cruising for which the boat was bought and improved is now simply beyond him.
