Elcie is a ketch-rigged 62' Aluminum Catamaran built with long range cruising in mind. The Forward Cockpit accessed through two doors creates a protected area for handling the mainsail and forward sails as well as allowing maximum ventilation through the bridge deckhouse. The mizzen is handled easily from the aft cockpit. Inside steering and a panoramic view out her large tempered glass deckhouse windows make watchstanding a pleasure. The bridge deckhouse with galley, nav station and two settees and dining table create an ideal interior living space. Crew cabins are in both hulls with two large queen berth cabins and five cabins with upper and lower single berths.

The Engine rooms, separated by watertight bulkheads, are spacious and clean with full access to two 75 HP Yanmar Engines. There is ample room to add equipment such as a genset or compressor. A forepeak compartment in each bow is also separated by a watertight bulkhead. There is plenty of storage space for paddleboards, surfboards, bikes, etc. Walk down transom steps provide easy access to the water, dinghy and water toys. The large tramp is a favorite hangout for lounging or star gazing.

Elcie is outfitted to be easy to operate and self-sufficient with long range cruising in mind. Included in the equipment list are 700 Watt Solar Panels, a Spectra Cape Horn Watermaker, Jefa Transmission Steering System and Autopilot, Vesper AIS, Satcom and much more.

Elcie's strength and stability give her a solid feel at sea while her shallow draft affords exploration well off the beaten track. The ketch rig offers two advantages - a variety of sail combinations for changing weather conditions and a low center of effort without loss of sail area. Maximum ventilation and insulation make her comfortable in the tropics as well as in higher latitudes.

The owners worked closely with designer, David DeVilliers, to create a versatile and now proven voyager. Both professional USCG Licensed Captains, the owners have a combined 75 years of sailing experience which factored into the design of this vessel.

Here is an opportunity to own a serious offshore cruising cat. We designed Elcie to be a fast, safe and capable passagemaker. Elcie has just completed an 18 month/32,000 NM circumnavigation. With berths for 10 in 5 cabins, she has safely carried a family along with many expense-sharing crew and volunteers across all oceans. She is well-suited to expedition and term charters, light scientific research, eco-adventures, film support and group/family cruising.
