So sad to be selling my dream boat. It's been in storage for most of the last year but now the land is being sold and the lease ended, so time is running out. This is a chance to pick up a fabulous Macgrogor 26X at a bargain price.

This exceptional MacGregor 26X is the pick of the Mac 26 models for social cruising on motor or sail. The X has a deeper cockpit than the M model, plus a full height bathroom just as you enter the huge cabin, so is very comfortable. MacGregor built the 26X from 1996 to 2003. This one was built in 1999 and imported into Australia in 2008, and has had very light use overall, plus has many thousands of dollars worth of upgrades over the standard fittings.

The combination of an incredibly spacious trailerable sailing yacht that is also a fast motor cruiser is unbeatable, no wonder these are the most popular trailer yachts in the world. And a total trailer and boat weight below 1,600 kgs means no heavy duty tow vehicle is required. Some owners live in their Mac when travelling over both land or water!

This boat is also very well set up for day saiiling or extended cruising, with lots of room to sleep up to 6 for luxurious weekends away. The interior is airy and dry, and seating has original cushions with no rips, tears or holes. The fore and aft berth cushions are covered in near-new marine blue fabric.

A comprehensive inspection report from a Marine Surveyor is available.

I'm selling without motor, so you can choose what power to run. MacGregor recommends 50-60hp for planing speeds of over 20 knots, but many owners are choosing 90hp or above.

That said, I do have an excellent Tohatsu 30hp available if you are happy to run the minimum recommended power.

See this official MacGregor video, which even features waterskiing behind an X towards the end of the clip:

The boat and trailer have so many extras and improvements. Here is a partial list:

80w solar panel permanently attached to the sliding hatch, able to be walked on.

20 amp water proof solar controller (battery charger)

Dual battery setup with 3 way switch.

Switch board with circuit breakers

Electrics upgraded, 3 cigarette plugs, one in cockpit and 2 in cabin, 1 under seat 4mm3 tinned wire used so can put a fridge in with no power drop.

Automatic bilge pump

LED lights inside cabin

Back lit compass

Smart battery manager stops flattening of the starter battery and priorities which battery to be charged first.

50 litre plastimo water tank connected to sink tap.

Full set of cockpit cushions in excellent condition.

Comes with near-new Bimini and dodger

After market high performance main with 2 reefing points, sails much better with this sail than standard, also comes with sail cover.

Lazy jacks on main.

Asymmetric spinnaker

Genoa with UV cover

All halyards redirected to the cockpit, all halyards and sheets colour coded.

After market high performance rudders.

After market Hydradrive Hydraulic steering for maintenance free sailing.

Hull has new coat of anti-foul

Auxiliary motor mount on stern for small outboard or tender motor.

Swim ladder

Mast raising system has been upgraded with Dyneema ropes and mast connection point beefed up.

Depth sounder/fish finder/GPS

VHF radio with antenna located at top of mast for greater range and clearer coms

Trailer with hydraulic brakes and brake flushing hose set up, LED lights on trailer.

Comes with 2 main doorways the original Macgregor fibreglass one and a 2 piece wooden one with vents which is much easier to stow when out sailing and provides ventilation

2 x Stainless steel fishing rod holders, 2 drink holders in cockpit.

Nav lights, LED anchor light, no flat battery in the morning.

All the rigging was upgraded to oversized about 5 years ago so should be good for the next 20 years. The standard Mac rigging is really too light for Autralian conditions.

The main is an aftermarket high performance sail, about 5 years old, and the improvement in sailing is very noticable. The genoa and spinnaker are original and in excellent condition.

The boat has been in storage for nearly a year, so it's time for a wash and polish to make it really shine.

Please contact me with any questions that are not covered in this description.

I can probably assist with delivery within a reasonable distance from Sydney if required.
