About the Boat
Are you in the market and looking for a fun and affordable way to get on the water this summer? Want to have the family and or mates participate as well ?.... Like the idea of sailing but can't find anything to fit the bill... Yes we hear you, as this style of boat is very hard to find... However, it's now time for this O'Day Weekender day sailor to be passed onto the next fortunate owner.
JCM sold this lovely "gentleman's" sailor some 10 years ago, the children have grown up and she isn't getting the use she deserves, so she has been pulled out from under the house and offered to the market for sale.
The O'Day was believed to built circa 1979 and sadly since there is little offerings on the market to compete or offer an alternative in the small mono hull trailerable space. The rig is a very simple boat to sail, a jib and main sail, for the adventurous- a spinnaker and pole is included but has been very seldom used. The mast is light aluminium and again very simple to erect and rig. The boat has been a local boat and often was seen in Horseshoe Bay where the owner would take the kids over during the day, play on the small inflatable dinghy, swim, have a fish and relax. The mast light was fitted so that there was no need to head home, sit back, watch the sun go down over the mainland and set up the home-made bedding for the three of them to have a kip overnight whether under the stars or if some drizzle, under the boom tent.
Simplicity at its best and the K. I. S. S Theory at work... You just don't need the big dollar boats to enjoy life's and the bay's pleasures.
The rig also has a Yamaha 4Hp 4ACMH outboard to assist getting in and out of the harbour or if the wind drops out. The engine is a 2003 model and presents in very good condition and has been further mechanically inspected and is backed by a BIA limited engine warranty.
