This is a beautiful traditional styled boat with state of the art solar powered electric drive system. This boat has spent most of its life on the Noosa River where its zero emissions footprint allows it to go far into the upper reaches of the Noosa River Everglades. Only electric boats can venture to the top of the river, and it means this boat can be used on many dams and pristine places in Australia that are off limits to normal petrol/diesel powered vessels.
It is powered by the sun and has enough battery power to go all day even on cloudy or rainy days. Its great for romatic weekends away -- even though it was meant to be a day boat -- and we've stayed up river for many days at a time and the built-in fridge and sink and gorgeous dining table mean a we want for nothing. It even has a built in composting toilet so its friendly on the environment as well as meaning we don't have to cross our legs while looking for a suitable landing place with a loo.
It was in commercial survey for many years for skipper and 8 passengers and it wouldn't take much to get in survey again, although that's not included in the price. If you dream of using it for commercial activities its perfect for weddings and other skippered tours (we've taken bird watchers and other environmentally focussed folks right up the Noosa River) and its also easily driven so can be rented out for day hire as well.
I have a charger for this boat but it has only ever been used once when charging the batteries for the first time in the workshop. Since then it has only ever got its power from the solar panels on the roof. It was on hire for many years at Noosa and the lowest the batteries ever got was 30% after a couple of trips up past Lake Cootharaba.
