Steely Dan is a 40 foot long Joe Adams designed centre cockpit cruising masthead cutter rigged yacht. She is built strictly to Joes design in round bilge steel to a high standard and is very fair as a yacht should be. She has a fin keel with 1.8 metres draught. Rudder is skeg hung. She is on the Australian Ship Register ON 851854. There is a teak lined step and stainless swim ladder added to the transom to allow easy access / egress from the dinghy.
She has cruised the Pacific and more recently a two year round Australia trip.
I am a retired engineer so In 2015 I carried out an out of water refurb of the following;
Mast out, new standing and running rigging, new conduit, wiring, led lights, repaint.
New mainsail and genoa.
new primary winchs=Hutton.
New Coursemaster autopilot. CM85I
Sandblast and paint underwater - paint with PPG epoxy system- 500 micron film thick.
Sandblast and paint deck/coachroof with PPG epoxy and 2 pack Polyurethane.
New Maxwell hatchs throughout.
Paint to topsides-2 pack Polyurethane
New Muir anchor winch and Xcell anchor
New Seahawk stainless steel 3 blade folding propellor and PPS shaft seal [dripless]..
New dodger and bimini.
New refrigeration unit.
New Raymarine wind, deoth instruments.
New 100 watt solar panel.
New batteries.
New upholstery throughout.
Note she has had a recent antifoul and Propspeed to shaft and prop.

Head area contains basin with hot/cold hand held shower, TMQ electric macerator head, sump with pump in floor. Has hanging locker and 6 cupboards.
Forepeak has 2 single berths, spare anchor and chain under.
Bow has stainless steel lined anchor chain store.

Deck Gear
All running rigging led back to jammers in cockpit. Anchor winch control is by local footswitch and cockpit remote. Handrail staunchions are 3 wire for safety, handrails along coachroof fore and aft. The dinghy cranes aft are set up for easy dinghy launch/retrieve. She has heavy bollards fore and aft fore mooring.
Remarks
Steely Dan is a real sailors boat and can do anything required of her, and as iv, e just ticked off 76 years its time for Steelyd to go to another home hopefully to provide as much fun she has given me. By the way, the dog doesnt go with her.
