SOLD SOLD SOLD - We currently have a number of buyers looking for yachts around the 34-40ft size. If you have a yacht that you are considering selling, please give Chris a call on 0428 444 727 for a friendly chat and market appraisal.

The design of the Beneteau 35s5 was a collaboration between French naval architect Jean Barret and interior designer Philippe Starck. Launched at the 1988 Paris Boat Show, the 35s5 was an immediate success for Beneteau.

The 35s5 was designed as a performance racing yacht with a good turn of speed and a spacious interior that incorporates all the desirable features of a comfortable cruiser. The tall fractional rig provides plenty of light wind performance and the swept back spreaders make her easily sailed shorthanded.

Down below, Beneteau have incorporated a generous amount of timber with aluminium accents to give the interior a modern contemporary look. The saloon table has two large fold out leaves and will easily accommodate six adults for diner. The two settees both have lee cloth's and make great sea berths while underway. There are numerous opening hatches to allow the sea breeze to blow through and the large coach house windows provide an abundance of natural light.

Accommodation is well catered for with three double cabins and two additional berths in the saloon. The head has a manual Jabsco toilet, stainless sink and a retractable shower head. Hot water is supplied by an engine driven heat exchanger and stainless steel storage tank.

The L-shaped galley features twin sinks, an under-bench ice box, and a very good Smev four burner stove and oven. There is a gas detector with certification. A unique feature of the galley is a sliding tray that can be used to increase bench space and doubles as a serving tray. The galley has ample storage with numerous cupboards and draws.

'First Class' has tiller steering and features a carbon fibre tiller. Tiller steering has a number of benefits over wheel steering. Many helmsmen prefer the tiller for its direct link to the rudder and the feeling and sensitivity it provides. The tiller can be easily folded out of the way leaving the cockpit clear and uncluttered. Tiller steering is more reliable as there are no moving parts and very little to go wrong with it. And for those helmsmen that prefer wheel steering, the cockpit has a recess large enough to accommodate a wheel and it would therefore be possibly to install a wheel steering.

The Beneteau First 35s5 is a truly versatile design that is equally at home racing around the buoys or spending weekends at Rottnest with family and friends. And with a Hillarys Pen (on the sought after Northern side) included, First Class represents excellent value for money and will not last long on the market at this price.
