CLASSIC 34 FT 10 INCH STEEL YACHT FROM THE PEN OF ALAN BUCHANAN
10.39 X 3.20 X 1.52
THE OWNER HAS INSTRUCTED ME TO BRING OFFERS FROM SOME ONE WHO WILL CARE FOR THE BOAT THE WAY THAT HE HAS///
Competed in the Sydney to Hobart races from 1966 through to 1973 with a placing in the 1972 race
The boat then did 25 Gladstone races winning the Courier mail cup in 1968
Originally built for Maurice Tilley by Caniffe engineering in 1/8 plate, the current owner is only the second owner. Great history here.
Built 1961, and launched in 1962. The current custodian of this fine vessel is a fitter and turner, and it is a credit to him with major hull and engineering upgrades over the years that the boat is in very sound condition. Ready for some young adventurer to take this boat where aver your compass aims you.
This is a nice and simple boat to be on / tiller steering /wide side decks/ simple single spreader rig. A beautifully balanced boat to sail, with a weight of just over 6 tons. Ballast set in pitch.
ONE WOULD EXPECT A 1962 YACHT WITH THIS AMOUNT OF MILES TO BE A RUST BUCKET. DEFINITELY NOT THE CASE HERE
Thanks to the skills of the current owner [ fitter and turner] who has replaced plating where needed, this boat is ready to go to sea. This vessel will definately pass an out of water survey.
RECENT WORKS INCLUDE.
Batteries recently replaced
Recent sandblast to the waterline and epoxy repaint. [ Hull appearance and gloss levels very satisfactory]
New copper fuel tank.

The value of any vessel is only as much as how the owner has maintained it. This one definately gets a well done. /

Remarks
This type of hull shape is kind to the crew, easy on the helm and a delight to sail. It will perform better than you think[ I have owned a vessel very similar to this as a young buck and it was the best hull i have ever owned and sailed on] The simplicity of the vessel makes for easy cruising.

When the going gets tough, this hull will look after you.
This is a fun boat to sail.
