Freshly slipped, antifouled and with a new Insurance Survey all completed March 2020. The hull was pressure cleaned, and inspected by surveyor prior to antifoul coating. Marina receipts to show on request. At the same time topsides and cabin top were washed and polished. This Catalina is regularly sailed and maintained and has many important updates. Catalina Yachts are well built in solid fiberglass and this example is in good condition. Powered by a 21 hp Nanni diesel with low hours, professionally fitted new 2009, all receipts available. This yacht has undergone extensive refurbishment including re-wiring, recent re-rigging (2018-2019). The hull, cabin top and decks were professionally sprayed with 2 pac Jotun paints and are in good condition. The Keel Bolts were replaced and the bilge was rebuilt by a professional boat builder at Hemmant, Brisbane in March 2018. A separate report detailing all keel work both external and internal stripping and rebuilding is available on request. .
Catalina 30's have a large, comfortable cockpit and good internal volume for a yacht of this size. This yacht has the tall rig with adjustable back stay for fine tuning and a fin keel for tight and precise pointing. With a ballast/displacement ratio of 42% and a sail/displacement ratio of 17% making it a responsive, fun and lively boat to sail giving a good turn of speed, yet offering good stability in rough weather. The fin keel gives good directional stability and pointing ability. 2 slab reefed main with genoa on a furler.
Below are two double berths including V Berth and large convertible dinette and two good size single berths giving accommodation for up to 6, but a comfortable cruiser for up to 5 people. The dinette gives comfortable seating for 4 - 5 people while the saloon comfortably seats 6 - 7 people. All cushion foams and fabric covers have been recently replaced and are in top condition. A fully enclosed good-sized bathroom has cold water pressure shower, vanity unit and electric toilet with 60 litre holding tank with 3 way valve for pump-out.

Accommodation
The dinette and saloon area is spacious and comfortable with a large dining table that comfortably seats 4 - 5 while the saloon area seats 6 - 7 people. Standing headroom is 6 feet in main walk through area. All bunk cushions, covers and foam replaced/renewed 2014. The head/bathroom is just forward of the main saloon on the port side. Bathroom shower drains to the bilge. There is also a cockpit shower with cold pressure water from a Whale pump which is near new.

There is good light and ventilation throughout the cabin and all is in good condition. The chart table is on starboard side near the main hatchway and has a large storage area under the table.
Cabins
The main saloon area has comfortable seating with a dining table converting to a double berth and a single bunk to starboard. A large V- berth is forward with large opening hatch for ventilation. The bathroom and vanity with storage cupboards is on the port side between the saloon and V berth. The aft cabin has a large single berth with room to store gear. Some people call this a double berth.

Three cockpit lockers provide ample storage for ropes, life jackets, fuel, fishing gear etc. 1 x large lazarette locker behind the wheel, 1 x very large locker to port to take large bulky items and 1 x shallow locker under starboard seats.
Remarks
The Maintenance Log, available on request, shows key improvements and maintenance details including a separate Keel Bolt Replacement Report. The Stainless Steel Rudder Stock was replaced in 2007, all stainless steel work by Speed Propulsion, Brisbane. This yacht is a pleasure to sail in all-weather from light airs to heavy weather assisted by furling headsail and slab reefing. The lead fin keel and ballast ratio give enjoyable sailing in comfort for a single hander or family cruising. Many systems on this boat have been replaced and /or refurbished over recent times by an attentive owner. Comprehensive set of Operation Manuals detailing GPS, Nanni Engine operation, fuel and oil filters and oils and suppliers are provided along with receipts for major items purchased to maintain the boat.
