Huge price reduction. Owner says sell!

Commissioned by Arthur Muston in 1923 and built to exacting standards by renowned Sydney shipwright, J Hayes & Sons, Windward is an iconic part of Australian and Sydney maritime history. Successfully raced at the Royal Prince Edwards Yacht Club (Edwards) from the 1920's Windward was kept in the Muston family until the mid 1950's. Listed on the Australian National Maritime Museums Register of Historic Vessels, Windward is a significant example of post World War I Australian yacht design reflecting all that was beautiful in the period. With long flowing lines, spoon bow and overhung transom this top sail gaff rigged cutter is a pedigreed performer while remaining gentle and balanced to helm.

Purchased by her current owner in 2004 Windward underwent a complete restoration over a 2 year period by Simon Sadubin. This intensive internal and external restoration focused on returning her to original racing condition including hull strip, refastening, re-corking and repainting, new knees and bronze mast step fittings, restoration of copper lined centreboard, refurbishment of interior to original specifications using Australian red cedar with Queensland white beech trim, new coach house, teak hatches and skylight, new wiring, new fuel tank, new rigging and spars including mast, boom and bowsprit, new sail wardrobe, new bronze deck fittings, sheets, timber blocks and much more.

Needless to say, Windward presents in spectacular condition and is ready for new adventures. Complete with a full history including archive material, photo's plans and service records this is a unique opportunity for yachting enthusiasts to own a rare gem. P. S. A 12m berth at D'Albora Marina, Cabarita Point with 21 year lease is also available via separate negotiation
