Remarks
Rosinante is a traditionally built solid sea kindly vessel and sails/trims/heaves-to excellently. Wheel steered and full of character. She is no show pony, but feels very assured on the water. As with any timber built vessel, maintenance is ongoing. She has had a few cracked ribs in her past, (common to this type of vessel), that have been sistered, and would do well to have two more skarfed in to the originals. These are all mid ships and have been so for decades according to surveys from long past. At some point of her history, someone thought fit to place a Stainless shoe under her mizzen compression post, which touches a bronze fitting on the main stern timber. This has caused some furring of timber around the rudder through post gland, and I would change this shoe to bronze. Other than this, the vessel is very well maintained and free of rot. The hull is in very good condition, being of Jarrah. I am moving to the warm waters of Queensland, and would not wish to subject her... Or myself.. To the extra maintenance that would ensue, so choose to leave her to the cooler waters. (She would do very nicely in Tasmania). She is a grand sight in full sail and would reward anyone keen to take on her stewardship.
