Built by XSP Yachts, this Farr designed performance sports boat has been fully and completely refurbished in 2021 and is the best Platu 25 in Australia.
The Farr website describes the boat as
"designed as a fast but easily handled one design club racer. Capable of being raced under IMS.... The light displacement hull shape combines a long waterline, fine bow sections and powerful stern sections, all carefully balanced to deliver exceptional performance. The combinations of a wide flaring topsides that increases the effective stability from crew weight and a highly refined keel geometry will give the high stability essential. "
These vessels have a cult following with large fleets worldwide and more than 700 built.
"Istio" has been professionally renovated and fully refitted with premium Antal, Lewmar, Ronstan, Colligo fittings and high performance ropes. There has been extensive use of Fineline and New England Dyneema ropes throughout including running rigging, lifeline, backstay and soft shackles.
Mast and Boom are aluminium. Mainsheet has been setup with fast trim, Self tailing winches, single line reefing set up for single handed sailing.
A large suite of sails including-
o Dacron main with slides and reefing points (Quantum)
o Spinnaker with Turtle (Quantum)
o Genoa, light Dacron, (Quantum)
o Heavy Genoa (Quantum)
o Freshly antifouled, but fully packed up ready to freight anywhere on a custom shipping and storage cradle. See photos, The boat and cradle can be loaded to a truck for delivery immediately.
