With 4 trans Atlantic and a Pacific crossing under her keel, (Nov 16), Time Bandit is a thoroughly proven, fully equipped and immaculate version of the "45", perhaps the best performing Island Packet ever built. Hull number 29, built in 1998 and with just two fastidious owners.

A major £20,000 professional refit by Concordia Yachts in Massachusetts in Oct 15 renewed the chainplates with upgraded new Garhauer spec stainless steel plates, 100 metres of new Maggi Aqua 7 super strong chain, added solar panels and controllers and engine overhaul, Time Bandit is ready to go as a liveaboard coastal cruiser or ready to take new owners safely around the world. In April 2017 we fitted a brand new, wraparound full enclosure.

Constantly upgraded, glittering stainless and freshly varnished brightwork all round, shows off Time Bandit at her best.

Comfortable and safe inside and out, this boat will take care of you at dock, at anchor or on the high seas. We know. We do both, year after year. See our Time Bandit blog. For rough weather capability, i. E. Force 10 in sea area Fastnet, search for the F10 blog entry. ( http://www. Sailblogs. Com/admin/blog_manager/post_edit. Php?xjMsgID=267898 )

EU VAT paid, Australian Tax & Duty not paid, therefore not currently for sale in Australian waters, until tax paid. Time Bandit is USA built which we believee attracts less duty than normal. (10%?)

Accommodation
FOREPEAK
Large anchor and storage locker with warp and ropes hanging storage. The windlass motor is located here.

FORWARD/MASTER CABIN EN SUITE SHOWER & HEAD
The en-suite head with cupboards, vanity desk, basin and shower with seat is spacious and well lit both by night and day with two opening side hatches and one Lewmar Ocean Hatch and two ports.

MASTER CABIN
Aft of the forward head is the master cabin with Pullman berth to starboard with full length shelf and cupboard. To port, hanging wardrobe, cupboards and shelving make this a very spacious and comfortable cabin. The holding tank with macerator and forward head seacock is located under the forward cabin floor. Lewmar Ocean hatch and four ports.

SALOON
The main cabin has two excellent (well proven) sea berths. The starboard settee berth converts to a double when required. Cupboard space, hanging lockers and shelving gives plenty space for all kinds of storage. The large folding saloon table can, and has sat 8 for Christmas dinner, or when used folded, comfortably sits four. When not in use, the table folds up against the forward bulkhead to create an open and roomy saloon. LED lighting throughout.

The Island Packet 45 has a good balance of saloon accommodation and vast locker space behind and below the saloon seats/berths.

Many modern yacht designs push the saloon seating right out to the hull sides. While this helps create a large saloon it both consumes locker space and also creates a challenging space to be traversed while at sea. On Time Bandit, well placed handholds throughout the boat allow safe and secure passage from companionway, through the saloon and forward cabin to the forward head and anchor locker. Additionally, for those that require some sleep while sailing, the saloon sea berths, set in from the from the outside hull noise, are both secure and quiet.

NAVIGATION STATION
Aft of the main saloon seating area is a full size chart table and leather "armchair" with VHF, SSB, electrics switch panel, Navtex, repeater for cockpit, instruments and reading light.

Beside the Nav station chair is a hanging wet locker.

The main saloon shares a second large head/shower with the aft cabin.

AFT CABIN
The large aft double cabin has its own hanging locker and cupboards. The double doors in the aft head can be set to make this a private en-suite.

AFT HEAD
Head, sink and shower with seating. Large vanity mirror allows crew to check they are looking great before heading on deck!

Webasto hot air heating to all cabins.

The "wet area" at the foot of the companionway is easily kept clean and, if wet outside, the crew can access both the head and galley without fear of wetting teak floors or carpets.

The galley is very safe. With its recessed, almost enclosed area, the cook or crew can safely prepare meals and dress, secure on three sides.
Refrigeration
There is a very large fridge / freezer lift top cabinet in the galley. The fridge is well sized and runs on its own compressor and thermostat.

Deck Gear
Lewmar winches throughout, 2 primary, 2 secondary on cockpit coamings. 4 halyard and reefing on deckhead..... Meaning you do not have to leave the cockpit to reef or lower sails. A MAJOR safety feature for us.
Remarks
From Island Packet 45 Brochure...... "The hull of the 45 is built of solid tri-axial laminate, providing the highest level of impact and puncture resistance and over twice the tensile strength of conventional woven roving laminates. The deck is cored with our exclusive "Polycore", an extremely tough, inorganic matrix of glass microspheres and resin that is impervious to rot and delamination. "

New improved spec chainplates professionally installed October 2015 to give 30+ years worry free sailing. (No warranty implied)

In 2013 the underside of Time Bandit was gently stripped to original gel coat (measured "as dry as a new boat") and treated with preventative anti-osmosis epoxy and anti fouled with 6 coats of ten year Coppercoat epoxy.
