Now in Cairns, this immaculately presented 2 stateroom owner version Jeanneau 44DS has had one owner since she was acquired new in 2012, where she was enjoyed as an inshore and coastal cruiser on weekends in Pittwater and Sydney Harbour until early 2016.

In 2016, after significant investments in major upgrades and additions to sail inventory, rigging, electrics, electronics, appliances and safety equipment, she was transformed into a fully equipped and extremely comfortable live aboard cruising yacht and spent 2016 until March 2021 up the east coast of Australia and into the spectacular cruising grounds of Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines, returning to Darwin in March 2021.

With a furled mainsail and 105% genoa (new UV suncover 2020) and all sheets leading into the cockpit, she is perfect for short handed sailing, having no need to leave the comfort of the cockpit during passages. A bow-thruster makes berthing her in marinas a breeze.

A spectacular pink and grey MPS Asymmetrical Tri-radial spinnaker with sock was added in 2017, which provides exceptional performance in trade and downwind sailing. The sail inventory is completed with an unused staysail for more extreme sailing conditions.

The original rigging was upgraded with a spinnaker pole and mast mount, boom preventer, dyneema inner stay, three mast halyards and a newly replaced genoa furling drum (2020), providing everything needed for all sailing conditions. The rigging has been regularly inspected.

Access to the yacht is easy, as you enter via the teak steps at the transom, direct from the marina dock or tender. From there, you are greeted with an extremely spacious and comfortable cockpit, with beautiful teak floor, seating and teak folding cockpit table. The cockpit is perfect for both entertaining and as a live-aboard, with rail mounted gas BBQ and 2 speakers for listening to your favourite music.

The original push-pit was extended for safety and for the fitting of a large 3-bow bimini, which includes overhead white and red LED lighting. A deluxe spray dodger, with grab rails and a cover to protect the screens and provide shade from the heat of the sun, is connected to the bimini via a link-sheet with attachable side shades, for added protection from the weather whilst at anchor.

This amazing cockpit can be fully enclosed, with a selection of both clear and mesh screens, which converts the cockpit into another enclosed living space, ideal in bad weather conditions at anchor and provides added safety and comfort during sailing passages.

The cockpit has 3 large storage lockers and a gas bottle locker with 2×4L gas bottles.
There are 2 steering wheels allowing superb visibility and 4 Harken winches.

The yacht has the best state of the art B&G electronics with a 9" Zeus3 chart plotter (enclosed in a Navpod) with Australian and SE Asian charts, two multi-function Triton2 displays (one on each helm) and a Triton2 Autopilot controller. The suite of electronics also includes a 4G radar, AIS transceiver and VHF splitter, Forward scan transducer (to assist with anchoring), NAC-3 Autopilot computer and wind and DST instruments.

For communication needs, there is a VHF radio and an Iridium Go Satellite mount at the navigation station, with external rail mounted satellite antenna.

Entering the light and airy main cabin, the L-shaped galley and spacious U-shaped dinette are to starboard, with navigation station and roomy chaise lounge to the port. The galley has plenty of counter space, a large top loading fridge, double sink, with counter cover and stove. There is a separate freezer fitted under the navigation station. Amazing airflow and natural light is provided by large windows, portholes and an abundance of hatches. This deck saloon has vast storage capacity, including deep underfloor, which houses the additional fuel tank and electric portable rainman watermaker. The dinette converts into a double bed with included infills. The saloon base cushion foam was all replaced in early 2021. There is a 22" TV, entertainment system and Bose speakers for those evenings relaxing inside this beautiful saloon.

To the aft is the cavernous owners stateroom, with enormous king sized bed (foam replaced in 2021), volumes of storage space and access to the manual day head with shower and fitted screen.

To the fore is a very spacious double cabin, with ensuite electric head and shower and a business/vanity desk. This cabin is so spacious and with plentiful storage that it could also be used as the owner's suite.

For power needs, extensive upgrades include an 1800W inverter, 720amh Fullriver AGM house batteries (new in October 2021) 100amh high output Balmar alternator, 660W (4×165W) semi-flexible solar panels (2020) zipped onto the bimini, 4×240V and 5×12V power sockets. With a Honda EU20i petrol generator (stored in a cockpit locker), an emergency parallel battery switch and battery monitor, this yacht has been kitted out perfectly with everything required for a life on the water.

She has a generous 530L of fresh water capacity and Rainman portable watermaker which makes ~130L ph. The original fuel capacity was increased substantially with the addition of a secondary 156L fuel tank under the cabin floor with an electric transfer pump which to increase cruising range and reduce the fuel stops!

A 20kg Rocna anchor, 45m of chain (replaced in mid-2020), chain counter, 100m of rode, 100m of mooring line and a secondary CQR anchor enables safe and secure anchoring and mooring of this yacht. A combined fresh and saltwater deckhose has also been fitted to clean the decks and ground tackle.

With her chine hull, deep keel, full sail inventory and folding prop, she is an outstanding performing monohull in all wind angles, enabling covering long distances quickly and in style. These yachts are often used for racing too!

She was hauled out, anti-fouled, propspeed applied to the prop, sail drive lower oil seals and anodes were all replaced in June 2021.

This stunning looking yacht, with her beautiful grey sloping eyelids, has been exceptionally well maintained and upgraded and is extensively equipped for immediate coastal cruising or a live-aboard life of offshore cruising, as her current owners have enjoyed for the past few years.

The yacht is currently in Cairns, QLD and can be viewed and purchased in Cairns, otherwise the current owners are prepared to deliver down the east coast of Australia.
