If you have glanced at the photos by now you can see that this is no ordinary sailing yacht. Built and fitted out to the highest possible boat building standards. The maintenance and presentation can only be described as immaculate. This truly is a piece of art that could never attract a negative comment about its graceful sheer line and balanced proportions.

Lyle Hess was the grand master when it came to small boat traditional design. The sister-ship [ Seraffyn ]circumnavigated the globe with out an engine with legendary sailors Lyn and Larry Pardy on board. This is a full keel yacht with a powerful rig and generous sail area. No gimmicks here, just proven ideas and hull shape that is timeless correct and well behaved in heavy weather.

In these days, it is hard to walk down a marina with out passing endless pop out plastic [made for profit] vessels. The world is flooded with them. It is a pleasure to come across a hand crafted work of art that, by the way was 10 years in the building. Some plastic boats today are built in ten days.

Remarks
The mix and blend of the mostly Australian timbers in the Mathew J is a credit to the artisan skills of Mike Reagan / Shipwright. I dip my hat to you and thank you for this creation.

The current owner is a gifted artisan in fine timber work and it shows in the presentation of the Mathew J
