Wind Dancer was purchased in August 2009 from the original owner, who had it built in Finland and then shipped to Lake Erie in Detroit, where he kept it at the
Belle Isle Yacht Club. As a result it was a fresh water vessel until 2010 and totally corrosion free. In October 2009 I had the boat trucked to Seattle for the express purpose of preparing it for a voyage to Australia. The boat had been only very lightly used and had very little of the equipment required for an 8500 mile voyage. Consequently the following was either installed new or replaced with new over the following 9 months before we set sail.
