Calypso is a Farr designed Noelex 30, giving space, comfort and speed to challenge much larger yachts. Setup for easy 2 handed sailing, Calypso can nevertheless comfortably sleep five adults.

Calypso has had regular use and maintenance with the work done for you and ready to go: wire halyards replaced in 2012, rubber trim replaced in 2015, fixed rigging and lifelines replaced in 2017, rebuilt Yanmar 2GM20 diesel engine fitted in 2011 (now 440 hours) and hull professionally painted in 2011. Cushion covers have been replaced, a bimini and lazy jacks added and a handy Sunbrella Jib deck bag added in 2017. There is a Bluetooth stereo, Raymarine 49E VHF, CTEK battery charger and automatic bilge pump.

Calypsos sailing performance is enhanced by placement of the 75l stainless steel diesel tank and the 120l water tank midships and a shaft drive to a Flex-o-fold two bladed propeller.

The interior wood is in great condition. The galley has more bench space with the better placement of the sink and pull out shelf and an Origo Methylated Spirits 2 burner stove.

The bulb keel draws 1.98m but can at the push of a button the hydraulic keel can be raised to 0.55m.

A safer and easier option than towing is a custom made steel cradle for easy transporting by truck, that can be made available for no extra cost.

Calypso is perfect for racing, local cruising or East Coast cruising. It can handle the conditions, is fast and yet can be anchored in 1m. Noelex 30s have been cruised up the coast shorthanded or even solo (see https://www. Youtube. Com/watch?v=FwJzpcm-99A).

Watch the videos of Calypso doing up to 10 knots off Peel Island and racing in light winds in Moreton Bay.

The Farr design has stood the test of time and there are few boats available with the Noelex 30 price, performance and features.
