The owner of this Peterson 30 has enjoyed a great deal of fun and R & R on the vessel since he purchased it However the time has come to move back to something a little bit smaller. At 30 feet in length and with a 5'10" beam and 1.7 meter draft the vessel is ideal for sailing rivers, estuaries and blue water. The sloop is fibreglass hull and deck with a nice timber fitout below decks. The auxillary powerunit for "Quasheba" is a Volvo Penta 2 cylinder diesel 11HP with a 40 litre tank and miserly fuel usage at just 1.25 litres per hour at cruise (5 knots). The Volvo spins a twin blade folding prop and "just in case" can be crank started, a major benefit if you happen to drain the batterys unexpectedly. However let's talk about the gear on hand when for when the wind blows and we don't need the motor to make her go! The sloop sports a masthead rig with an inner forestay, 2 jib halyards and 2 spinnaker halyards, a fully battened main with two reefing points lazy jacks and a bag, Dacron no's 1,2,3, and 4 and Mylar no 1.1/2 headsails (all headsails are hanks onto the forestay), a self furling jib, a spinnaker with sheets and kickers and 2 poles and a jockey pole, a block and tackle mast lowering system, 2 two speed headsail sheet winches, 2 secondary spinnaker sheet winches, 2 halyard winshed (cabintop), 2 small reefing winches and all sailing controls/halyards are in the cockpit for single handed work..... I think you should be able to get a good heal to lee going with that lot! The cockpit is spacious and is enhanced with padded benches large enough to take a snooze on, 2 cockpit lockers, an articulated cockpit table, a cockpit access ladder built in to the pushpit and a battened sun awning (covers the entire cockpit and the cabin up to the mast) absolutely ideal for those sunny days at "Rotto". Step down into the saloon and you will find a dinette, a chart table, a nose V-berth, two quarter berths (the dinette folds down to make another double), a toilet, sink (100 litre water tank with a foot pump), stove, ice chest and 7' of headroom.... Excellent accomodation in a yacht this size! A compass, 27 meg radio, all the safety gear and an RIB tender with a motor complete the inventory in this "ready to go" cruiser. Get yourself out there and in front of the breeze this summer in this lovely Peterson!!
