Southern Sky is a cutter rig design vessel and has had only one owner.
My wife and I built her with the intention of sailing the oceans safely.
There is a tremendous amount of equipment on this sailing vessel and apart from your own personal belongings she is ready to sail around the world now.
Southern Sky has many thousands of sea miles to her credit.
She is Australian registered and ready to go exploring again.
Approximately every 3 years we have upgraded her to maintain a high standard of safety as well as comfort.
Recently a 54HP Yanmar motor was installed and it has only just been run in with 500 hours on the clock.
Southern Sky tracks well at sea and is easy to sail and is ideal for a couple wanting to cruise offshore.
Southern Sky is a proven Blue water cruising yacht which has always been maintained in tip-top condition by her fastidious owners.
She has proven to be a safe, comfortable cruising yacht which will suit the most discerning purchaser.

Remarks
Southern Sky has a unique deck configuration that allows our RIB to sit level right side up forward of the mast on stainless steel rails.
The 9HP motor can also be attached. This concept has serviced us well and enables all sorts of survival gear to be carried in a safe and waterproof environment underneath the dinghy seat. Whilst underway on long passages the dinghy is covered with a heavy duty waterproof cover. It is also easy for a husband and wife team to use the winch to lower the dinghy into the water when at anchor. It is quite unique to be able to do this on a 11.8 metre monohull.

On the aft deck there is an easy to attach bayonet fitting for the gas BBQ with its own cover; 2 full size external covered gas bottles, all underneath the solar panel tower and it is a pleasant place to sit and watch the world go by at the end of the day.

Since building Southern Sky we have travelled many thousands of sea miles and we have experienced our fair share of heavy weather sailing but at no time has she let us down. Her sea going qualities coupled with the cockpit design makes it a very safe boat to sail during rough conditions.
She is a vessel that has been continually looked after and many yachtspeople have commented on how well she looks and sails.

Southern Sky is now in a position for interested people who want to do Blue water cruising to come and have a look at her.
We think you would be pleasantly surprised at the amount and quality of equipment that is included with Southern Sky.
