Presentation
Tour/Video

'Rogue Wave' was designed by the late David Thomas (UK) who designed the Clipper Challenge 67 fleet. The Sigma 36 FR was the designers favourite from all his Sigma designs (33,36 FR, 362,38 and 41). Solid GRP hull and cored deck built to Lloyd's standards by Marine Projects in Plymouth UK. Superb and proven solid offshore cruiser/racer with excellent stability and performance. IRC handicap 0.938.
Rogue Wave has similar lines to Farr, Northshore, Adams, S&S designs of the 1980's.

Over 13 years, the previous owners sailed her double handed from the UK across the Atlantic and Pacific to NZ and Australia, before heading to Asia. I purchased Rogue Wave in Malaysia in 2009 and following a refit in Langkawi, sailed her solo back to Newcastle Australia.
Rogue Wave is Australian Registered with all duty and GST paid.
A full Termitrac Inspection was completed at time of import.
Since 2011 she has been raced on weekends at local club level in Port Stephens and Newcastle and competed in the crewed offshore passage races.

I successfully raced Rogue Wave in the 2014 and 2018 Solo Tasman Yacht Race from New Plymouth NZ to Mooloolaba QLD, placing 3rd and 2nd respectively on IRC handicap. All deliveries to NZ were solo demonstrating that she is delight to sail solo.

The most recent Survey was in Apr 2019 during annual haulout in preparation for the 2019 Rolex Sydney Hobart race.
Rogue Wave was in hard stand storage under covers from Oct 2014 through to Feb 2018 with mast out whilst I was deployed to the US. On return in 2018, I performed a complete rigging inspection during the recommission in preparation for the 2018 Solo Tasman race. Since returning home in Apr 18, Rogue Wave has been maintained on her mooring at Salamander Bay Port Stephens in preparation for sale so I can move onto my next project 'Roaring Forty' and an attempt on the 40ft Solo Unassisted Around Australia record.

Rogue Wave successfully completed the 76th Anniversay Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race in 2019 and is ready to go again.
Top speed during the race was 14.5knts surfing with a crew of six - not bad for this grand old lady.
