The Tayana 55 is designed by the Dutch Naval Architect and designer. Pieter Beeldsnijder, who is recognized throughout the world as a premier designer. The Tayana 55 is designed and built for serious cruising. The hull is one of the most durable, versatile, safest and best performing hulls in its class. The wide beam of 4.9 mtrs easily accommodates this three cabin layout; and few if any yachts of its size can carry its three cabin layout with a full stand up engine room and workbench so effortlessly. The philosophy at Tayana yachts is, sailing should be a pleasure. This yacht can be easily handled by a cruising couple as the current owners have completed 40000 offshore miles with just the two of them. The solid dodger hardtop arrangement is fantastic for keeping out of the elements with great visibility, and protection while sailing offshore or coastal cruising.

Current owners purchased Saliander 2006 in Greek Islands and spent 9 years zig zagging their way home to New Zealand via Caribbean, East Coast USA, New Foundland, Gambiers, French Polynesia, Hawaii, Alaska, British Columbia and South Pacific Islands.
She underwent a refubishment in 2016, including new paint to hull, deck and mast, along with new lenses to ports and hatches. A number of essential components have been replaced and work was also carried out below deck.
