Pattybelle the 44 foot motor-sailor has been with her current owner for the last 33 years, has circumnavigated Tasmania many times and sailed extensively around the Tasmanian coast, the Furneaux islands, across Bass Strait to complete two voyages to Sydney.

Launched in 1970 for her original owner George Jenkins until 1986 (under the name of Wincanton), Pattybelle has proven to be an exceptional all-purpose pleasure craft whose construction and seaworthiness is unsurpassed. Her shipwright and master craftsman Irwin McVille commenced construction in Launceston in 1968 and she is Carvel (splined) on timber frames. There are original artifacts, including plans and drawings, logs and other historical documents. Engine/gearbox manuals are available plus all other relevant manuals and instruction books.

This opportunity opens up the possibility for many options for the new owner, whether living aboard or extended cruising. There is ample accommodation for family and guests. Whilst the decor is dated to her original period, to style the interior to your own liking to enhance the gorgeous Huon pine fitout is your blank canvas to create. A huge and lounge/living area is complemented by a full kitchen - separate toilet and shower, separate sleeping quarters and pilot house. There are two air compressors on board, one engine driven and one 240 volt for those times when you want to go diving. It will not take much to make this beautiful motor yacht your masterpiece to enjoy for many years to come. The vessel is impeccably built and maintained, has been inspected and is as good as the day she was launched.

Over the years, her ballast and rigging has been tweeked to improve her sail-ability, enhancing the effortless handling and performance, whether in slight or heavy seas. There are many stories from the owner of surfing at 15 knots in bass strait and down the East Coast under full sail powered by the legendary Perkins 6354. With 1500 litre fuel capacity and average speeds around 8.2 knots at 2200rpm @ 8 litres per hour including running the generator - all that needs to be done is to pick your destination and go. Patttybelle is ready and waiting!

Last survey was in 2019 for Club Marine Insurance purposes and last slipped at Spencers Slipway in November 2021 for routine careening and antifouling. No adverse reports were issued and the minor date sensitive items have been addressed. 2 years since slipped with Trans Ocean antifoul. Standing rigging was undertaken 2 years ago - and the mast out 8 Years ago.
