Defiance is a robust and well maintained example of Peter Cole's very popular Traditional 30 design. Traditional 30s are renowned for their internal volume and sailing characteristics and have a good turn of speed to boot. The current owner has recently stripped the antifoul back to the hull (2016), installed a new depth sounder and NMEA 2000 backbone (2017), replaced the dodger (2016) and rebedded the stanchions (2018). Last antifoul 2017. Jib sheets and halyard have also been recently replaced. Built to survey in 1984 she has crossed Bass Strait under a previous owner.

Defiance would be an excellent first boat or family cruiser, easily sailed single handed and safe under all but extreme conditions. Great for a family weekend away with interior space that compares well to a 34 footer, she has comfortably and repeatedly sailed a family of four to Lake Macquarie, Port Jackson, Port Hacking and Port Stevens from Broken Bay. 2014 Survey available upon request.
