Amazing Grace. Where old world charm meets new world convenience.
She underwent an extensive refit and upgrade in 2020. Re-launched in September.
She is a very unique vessel that can truely take you around the world. She has the runs on the board already.
Gracie also has some very modern features which make her a pleasure to sail and just be aboard.

HULL

Designed by the ever popular Bob Perry as a smaller more nimble, easier to handle version of the incredible Valiant 40.
Solid fibreglass hull with balsa cored deck. Her interior volume seems like a much larger vessel, and incorporates many features not seen often on sub 35 ft boats. She has a 3/4 keel with skeg mounted rudder. Rudder is new, solid stainless steel, professionally built to replace the old damaged rudder.
While the rudder shaft was out, all new gland packing was installed.
Hull was treated to a new coat of two pack paint, wale stripe and sign writing whilst on the hard stand. New anti foul and tie coat after removing all the years of build up.

MOTOR

Old tired engine and Vee drive was replaced with a modern 3GM30 Yanmar and SD20 saildrive unit. The pictures attest to the quality installation. Motor is smooth, quiet and very good on fuel at about 2 litres an hour. Professional stainless steel engine mounts. All new Yanmar rubber mounts for engine and saildrive. New hoses, fan belts, raw water pump, impeller, plus injector service, with 3 spare injectors all serviced at the same time.
All oils and filters are new. Racor diesel filter, with many spares.
There is a near complete second engine for parts that is included in the sale. I have removed, starter, water pump etc to carry on board. They are all in great condition and are included. Fresh water engine flush fitted. Can flush salt water from the heat exchanger if sitting for any length of time.
Motor runs from two tanks. Main tank is 180 litre, sub tank is 70 litre. Nearly enough fuel to make Vanuatu without wind !!
Heat exchanger is near new and has been cleaned and checked recently. Total hours on engine 1030

INTERIOR

Mostly factory original. Hot and cold pressure shower from engine heat exchange. New macerating toilet with holding tank. (not plumbed up)
There is a new jabsco pressure pump installed. 90% of the wiring has been replaced, and lights replaced with all LED. New to Gracie gas stove and oven which was professionally installed along with a gas sniffer system which cuts the flow of gas if any is detected. Installer issued a new, current gas compliance certificate. Manual salt water pump to sink. Even a heater for those freezing nights in the tropics......
Extra large inbuilt fridge. Run from a Waeco 12volt cooling unit, it's the crowning glory of fridges. SUPER cold.
Large chart table, masses of storage under new floorboards, under bed settees, wet hanging locker, overhead sink cupboards, fold down table, double stainless sinks, all water leaks were addressed and she is now a super dry boat in the heaviest of downpours.
There is a dedicated locker which houses all the batteries. A huge, new start battery along with 520amps of agm house batteries, all new. Charged by 500watts of fold out solar panels. We've run two large Engels as freezers plus fridge, lights, pumps, etc etc etc and never got close to needing more power. It really is a proper off grid system.

COCKPIT

New steering wheel setup. Originally Gracie was tiller steer, which I hated, so at great expense she was changed to a wheel (silly me)
Tiller remains on board as a back up or to revert to original if required. The binnacle is a top quality Edson unit from the US, as is the wheel. Traditional stainless steel chain and wire rope with a stainless steel quadrant. Mounted on the binnacle grab rail is a Navpod full of electronics. Raymarine autopilot, New Garmin wireless wind speed/direction indicator, New Garmin speed/temp/depth instrument. Also a really spiffy looking wooden fold up table, great for sundowners. (ask me how I know) Large Plastimo compass on binnacle head.
The dash holds a 12 inch Garmin GPS plotter, touchscreen, with high definition radar overlay. Works a treat in low visibility.
Seat have a EVA non slip product applied.
Massive, I mean massive lazzerettes. I can fit in either one..... Comfortably.
A manual outboard lifter means even my wife can easily fit a 15hp engine to our tender. A great piece of kit.

ON DECK

All brand new canvas. Sail bag for staysail, mainsail cover, Genoa UV cover, helm cover, dodger, GPS and start panel cover.
Lines all lead to the cockpit, big self furling unit on the Genoa.
Sail o mat self steering wind vane mounted on stern. Never quite got to working on it. I borrowed a wheel hub from a friend, and that's all that's need to complete it. That and some geometry for the lines. Good luck.
All new LED navigation lights, stern light, anchor light etc
Very large Muir anchor windlass controlled from the cockpit or deck.
Will come with a plough anchor and 30m of 10mm chain and 100m of new rope. Stern anchor and rode.
The toe rail woodwork is currently being worked on, and will be completed before sale.
All chain plates were removed, checked and resealed.

REMARKS

Lovely, lovely yacht. The ONLY reason for selling is we have now decided to become full time cruisers and find Gracie just that little bit small for two of us and two little dogs. We have purchased a much larger Catamaran for this purpose.
The age of the rigging is unknown, and best information I have on age is 2004 replacement. The rigging is way oversize for a 32 ft boat, again testament to her true usage. The sails are in good to very good condition and include a hanked on storm jib. There are other sails in bags too, but I've never looked at them. Very slack of me, I know.
She was sailed from the US by an Argentinian and his Australian girlfriend over a two year period. Well documented, as the lady wrote a book about the voyage. (there is a copy on board)
Moored in the Burnett river, right beside our Cat, so viewing is no problem. Absolutely 100% ready to sail, just add water, food and clothes if you wish.
