Remarks
The vessel was originally constructed to a very high standard by a Tasmanian builder for rigorous offshore service in southern waters. The vessel was built well enough that the CSIRO used the vessel for 10 years as the first Australian fisheries research vessel. The vessel has numerous round Australia voyages to its credit (Also naming an underwater sea mount off the NSW coast)
She has seen a number of refits and reconstruction processes. She was restored in the 1970s by the Bern Culbertson. A significant progressive maintenance program has been continued under its current long-term ownership.
The vessel was extensively refitted in 2007 where the vessel was on the hard for an extended period. The transom sections and framing were replaced and a percentage of hull planks were also replaced. The work was done by a traditional Tasmanian shipwright.
The vessel has been in the ownership of Warren Ladd an experienced commercial mariner with 50 years experience of building, restoring, maintaining and operating timber vessels.
After 28 years, the current owner is retiring in QLD and is looking for offers. Would consider trade of vessel as part payment and/or property
