16ft 'Winkle Brig' #39 - gaff rig open day boat.
Built mid 80s by Eric Berquist of Ferry Boat Yard in England. I believe the first day boat built on this hull.
As far as I know the only one in Australia.

Check out webpage - www. Winklebrig. Org - for more information on these lovely little classic trailer-sailors. You will see my boat in the gallery.

o Spruce mast and spas
o Currently fitted with a low hours Honda 10hp 4 stoke outboard in well before transom. Motor has battery charger and electric start and
easily accessible controls, with 20 lt fuel tank and fuel line. There will be a new cranking battery fitted at point of sale.

If you are interested in this boat I am happy to email you a complete inventory and more detailed photos and descriptions.

This little boat turns heads whoever she goes - even before you launch her! All the romance of a classic timber boat without the maintenance. She is easily towed (exact weight unknown but would estimate close to 900kg) launched and sailed single handed - though a crew is helpful for rigging and more fun to enjoy the boat with.

She is a very firm and forgiving boat under sail but is no slouch in a good stiff breeze. I have clocked her at 6+ knots (over ground) on occasion. The Honda outboard is quiet and economical.

Reason for sale: I inherited this boat from my father about 12 years ago and it was shipped out from England. I have had much pleasure from her but family circumstances have changed and I have not been getting the use from her that she deserves. It is time for someone else to care for her and enjoy her.

I am happy to arrange (with adequate notice) a 'sea-trial' on the Tweed River for serious buyers. Boat is located at Palm Beach, Queensland.
