Tarangau is a Blue Water Off Shore Cruising Trimaran designed by Ian Farrier and professionally built to survey at Breakfast Creek by J. DAVIDSON & A. SPROUL. She was launched on 24/11/1984. She is equipped with everything you need to go anywhere in comfort, yet still capable of speeds sufficient to satisfy the performance orientated cruiser.

She has a large centre cockpit and high free board. She is fitted with a large Bimini which means she is a dry, warm, comfortable boat. Side steps allow movement forward safely and easily in poor weather. She is fitted with centre nets so there is no slamming. The forward nets are for safety when anchoring etc. She is fitted with a small mini keel and with the centre board up she can be beached or put down on a slip.

She has plenty of deck space as well as good living area below. Separate aft double cabin, dinette & galley. A Port wing berth in the main cabin and a bow berth which is currently used for storage. The outer hulls are large and with massive storage areas. All wet items like spare anchors ropes, tarps etc are stored in the outer hulls hence the centre hull contains only personal items and equipment.

She is Australian registered as her original owners sailed her to the South Pacific with the intentions of taking passengers hence the build to survey. The plan of putting her into work did not eventuate and she was subsequently purchased by my friend who owned her for 18 years. I purchased her in 2007. She is fitted out very well and has always been well maintained by enthusiasts.

Upgrades by me included all new wire rigging, new Raymarine Instruments comprising Wind, Log, Depth, Wheel Autohelm, replacement of the original 2 cylinder Yanmar motor with a 3 cylinder 22 HP Yanmar. Hulls and Deck have been repainted and all maintenance completed as required. She is normally slipped each year for anti fouling, and any maintenance required at All Craft Marine Warneet.

Tarangau has been surveyed by All Craft Marine for Insurance purposes twice during my ownership and it is currently within its survey period for insurance with Club Marine. A copy of the survey is available.

Spare parts include a full Yanmar Spares Kit, genuine Yanmar Service Manual, Spare Oil filters, Yanmar fuel filter and spare filters for the larger 2nd fuel filter. Spare impellers, globes, alternator brushes, water pump parts etc, etc, etc.

Tarangua is a Blue Water Cruising Trimaran which has been sailed up and down the Australian East Coast most of her life with some trips further north. All systems are in working order and ready to sail anywhere. To deliver her you only need to put fuel and water in the tanks, buy your food and go.

I am selling Tarangau due to ill health. She comes with everything except my personal property, all mooring lines, fenders, barge boards, 100 metres of new heavy duty mooring/anchor line, 15 metres of spare anchor chain more line. Spare water and fuel drums, just about everything you would want.

My wife and friends love sailing on her as she is a stable, roomy boat to be out on. I also often sail her single handed with ease. Time has caught up with me, however, so Tarangau must go. The boat is priced to sell at below the brokers estimate and insurance value. I am available at anytime for any enquiries.
