The Catana 471 is a well known performance catamaran from the Catana boatyard in Canet-en-Rousillon France designed by Christophe Barreau. It is considered the "sweet spot" of the Catana range for the right mix of performance, accomodations and ocean crossing sea keeping abilities with many vessels completing circumnavigations.

The cockpit of a Catana 471 is vast. The two offset and raised helm stations make sail trimming easy and allow the helmsman to keep an eye on the boat and its crew at all times. Mainsail hoisting, reefing and dousing are all handled by a central Harken 53 electric speed winch on the aft beam keeping crew safe within the confines of the cockpit without the need to go to the mast. The wide flush side decks remove slip, trip and fall hazards as there are no ropes or hatches to stumble upon while moving forward at sea. The North Sails polymer trampoline is extremely comfortable under foot when hoisting the spinnaker or weighing anchor and is a great place to relax at sea in modest weather conditions.

Accommodation
The raised salon of the Catana 471 with its forward facing navstation and linear aft facing galley comfortably accommodates up to eight people allowing panoramic ocean views that may be enjoyed while seated around the folding salon table. Two forward opening hatches combined with the sliding glass door and window aft provide excellent salon ventilation... Especially while cooking. Cushions of the U-shaped Salon, are constructed using high-resilience, extra thick Bultex foam, for optimum comfort with large storage areas beneath. Cushions have recently been re-covered with red leatherette for ease of cleaning. Three double cabins with large berths and extra large opening "Moonlight" portholes continue the trend of offering a superb sea view from the berths, as well as from the Owner's bathroom located forward in the starboard hull. The hull passageways are fitted out with a variety of generous cabinetry and storage areas with additional interior shelving being added to the stateroom closets.

All interior furniture and flooring is constructed of foam-cored sandwich for lightness and rigidity. Cabinetwork and inner surfaces are Cherry wood veneer trimmed in teak using the Oberflex process (maintenance free). Ceilings are isothermal and ultra light, with easy to clean soft touch vinyl covered access panels in bright ivory surrounded by beige Alcantra trim. All floors are in teak veneer with black grooves utilizing the Stratifil process (maintenance free). Interior brightness has been enhanced with the installation of 7 additional LED lighting fixtures to the salon and galley.

Remarks
LOCATION: Pangkor Marina, a duty and tax free port for international yachts, is the gateway to SE Asia cruising with potential ports of call in Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Phillipines while also being a hub for incoming and departing sailing rallies. The Sail East Malaysia Rally departs Pangkor in late March / early April and meets up with the Sail Indonesia Rally in July which returns to Pangkor in late October. The current owner's took part in the 2019 Sail Indonesia Rally which exceeded all expectations and offered fantastic scuba diving opportunites, attendance to cultural activities / events and great socialization with fellow international sailors.
