"Savanna" a 2010 Lagoon 400 Owner's version sailing catamaran now for sale and available to view in Raby Bay. The Lagoon 400 is one of the most spacious 40-foot catamarans available, with every comfort taken care of as well as being extremely easy to sail.

Designed by Marc Van Peteghem & Vincent Lauriot Prevost, built by Groupe Beneteau, the Lagoon 400 features exceptional living space on deck and in the cockpit. She has a comfortable salon with a 360° view. The luminous cabins, thanks to large hull windows, make this catamaran model an optimal live aboard and long distance cruiser.

Sailors won't be disappointed with the Lagoon 400. Sure, there is a trade off for all of that living space, but you will comfortably achieve consistent 6 knots for passage planning and 7 knots and over in a breeze, even upwind. She tacks well if you boost the speed before coming through the wind. The main has 3 reefing points, while the furling genoa is easy to handle. The Code 0 makes running or reaching sailing a blast! A good safe comfortable vessel in a breeze, the design provides confidence even in very uncomfortable conditions.

The running rigging is simple, all lines, sheets and halyards come back to the helm and all the work can be done using the one electric winch and the three manual winches. Raising and lowering the main and reefing works well from the helm. Twin 40Hp Yanmar 3JH5E naturally aspirated diesel engines, (both around 1900 hrs) enable economical fuel burn while enabling good passage making speeds if needed under motor. The SD50 sail drives are equipped with prop speed coated three blade folding propellers ensuring less resistance, even when under sail.

Getting about the boat feels safe, as the layout has been kept clean with wide flush decks with recessed hatches. The bow lockers will comfortably store all your lines, fenders and sails. On this vessel there are custom second levels giving you an additional floor section to safely store less often utilized equipment, spares or bulk stores.

The Lagoon 400 is known for its comfortable accommodations and generous entertaining areas. Living space is where Lagoon have excelled on the 400 and the design has stood the test of time. The saloon and galley are very roomy for a boat this size, with panoramic views, and plenty of storage under the saloon sofas that seat 6. The saloon also includes a handy navigation station.

The galley includes one 130L fridge for food and plenty of bench space and drawers. Three burner gas cooktop and oven, capsule coffee machine, air fryer, electric jug, icemaker and toaster ensures plenty of great food can be prepared. There is also a 68L freezer in the starboard hull.

A 130L drinks fridge in the cockpit provides ready access for sociable sundowners where 8 people can be easily accommodated on the comfortable cockpit seating. The gas BBQ allows grilling or pizza to be executed while entertaining. This area has full mesh screening to shelter from the elements if needed. Hammock swing points allow lazy reading /sleeping. There is a hot & cold cockpit shower for getting salt off after a swim.

This maestro model features an entire starboard hull dedicated to the owner's stateroom with double semi walk-around bed and ensuite, with dry head and separate shower. The port hull has two double-sized cabins, one with double-sized semi walk-around, the other twin or double configuration with shared ensuite. These cabins share a dry head and separate shower. All three cabins have plenty of hanging closets and storage draws.

The L400 is built using Lagoon's tried and trusted method, solid laminate below the waterline and balsa core above, including the decks. The hulls and decks are infused with polyester, and Lagoon adds vinylester resin to the hulls as an osmotic barrier. Savanna's forward bulkhead / nacelle was professionally replaced, with reinforced construction using thermolite base material in 2020.

Features include LED lighting, 120L/h watermaker, 1.4kW solar, 840A/h AGM batteries, 3kVA inverter, Cell Fi Go, and a comprehensive updated Raymarine instrument package including 12" Axiom MDF with Navionics, AIS, autopilot, 3D sonar and radar. Smart TV and bluetooth accessible stereo complete the entertainment package.

"Savanna" has been very well maintained and presents extremely well with upgrades to make blue water passages, coastal cruising or live aboard a pleasure. 3.0m RIB with 15hp Yamaha allows quick transport for shore expeditions, while a 6 man in-service liferaft with hydrostatic release provides additional security.

"Savanna" with updated equipment, extra features and cruising inventory onboard ensures safe and comfortable cruising. Last hauled at The BoatWorks Nov 2023. Professional vessel survey report (Nov 2023) available.
