A WHOLE LOT OF BOAT FOR NOT MUCH MONEY

Sumi - J is a very strong and solid, Professionally built production cruising catamaran, built on the Gold Coast in Qld and lauched in 1998.. Tasman Elites are well sought after and highly regarded as Liveaboard cruisers. The volume and living space is amazing and leaves most people in awe. Hence, why they are sough after as Liveaboards.

My wife and I spent 4 years cruising the Qld Coast and had the time of our lives. She is very easy to sail and performs well. Anywhere from 6 to 10 knots is very comfortable. Our top speed acheived was 14 knots which was with a following sea and probably down the face of a wave. We have been in 2 metere swells and felt 100% safe. The boat is strong and performs well.

As stated, the living space both inside the boat and at the stern deck is larger than 99% of boats of a similar size. One of the great advantages of the Tasman Elites is the two forard opening windows in the saloon. This concept is now being copied with the latest HH44 sailing catamarans (see Sailing with the Wynns on youtube) a US$1.6 million dollar boat. This enables wonderful ventilation and cooling breezes to flow through the boat when sailing and on anchor, or in the marina. In tropical summer heat, the inside of the boat remains cool.

I could go on and on about why we have loved this boat. Unfortunately, life and work circumstances have deemed it necessary for us to return to life on land. Sadly, we have decided to let Sumi-J go to a new owner to enjoy the wonderful experience of cruising and liveaboard fun that we have enjoyed so much.

The two most recent sales of Tasman Elites have been at $245,000.00. Whilst Sumi-J has been well looked after with regard to the hulls, rigging and mechaniically (the important things), she could do with some cosmetic upgrades including a new Boom Sail Bag for example, she is in great shape. Sound and reliable. At our listed price $45K under the market, you will be able to attend to the cosmetic upgrades to suit your own style with your savings.

The engines have been fully serviced and tuned Aluminium fuel tanks in each hull drained and cleaned. Sale drives serviced and painted with Prop Speed. Hulls maintained with fresh antifouling every year that we have owned her.. Rigging inspected and tuned. Winches serviced.

A whole lot of boat for not much money.
