The Amel 53 is a purpose built passage maker, designed and constructed to effectively deal with the realities of ocean voyaging and long term liveaboard. Watertight collision bulkheads, fully weather protected helm station, full sized engine room with complete and easy access to all maintainable systems, low maintenance exterior, extremely functional interior, lots of storage space both on deck and below, are just some of the features offered by the Amel. ||Yacht has been re-powered with the Yanmar 100hp diesel engine that is the same engine used in the later models Super Mamaru 53 and only has approx 1,672 hours approx at time of listing. This engine is over and above the original power spec for the yacht and provides more than enough power to the prop in all conditions encountered.
As of 10-11-2016 there has been a new Hurth transmission fitted to the yacht.
The engine room is directly below the cockpit floor and with the access open and locked back there is more than enough room for two people to enter the space and complete the regular services this yacht has seen.
There are full and very detailed service records available to view at time of inspection. This goes for all work that has been completed by the current owner.

||Below decks forward is a V-berth Cabin that extends to a queen/full to port and a single berth to starboard. Just aft there is a head and hanging locker starboard. The second watertight bulkhead lies between the forward head and the main saloon, with a gasket-ed door. The Main Saloon is amidships with U-shaped settee and table to port and sofa with adjacent lockers to starboard. Also above the sofa is a single pull out pilot berth with privacy curtain. There is a 24 volt deep freezer/refrigerator under the settee cushions. There are generous lockers and storage areas above and below the sole. Next aft is a Navigation Station and large hanging locker to starboard and deep U-shaped Galley to port with second under counter Fridge/Freezer. Proceeding aft through a passageway to starboard there is a Sea Berth and locker space opposite the engine room bulkhead. Under the sea berth is a water-tight fully vented locker that houses the 24v house and 12v start batteries. The third watertight bulkhead is located between the sea berth and the master cabin with a gasket-ed door. To starboard directly aft of the bulkhead is a large hanging locker. Opposite is the second head with the same features as the forward head. The forward head has a holding tank, a deep sink, shower, clothes drying rack and towel racks, plus generous storage lockers. Aft is the Master Cabin, with queen bed to port and cushioned sitting area with desk/vanity/swing out stool to starboard. Under the berth is storage for charts and luggage, etc. It also gives access to the other autopilot and rudder quadrant. This also allows access for the installation of the emergency tiller. The last watertight bulkhead is between the master cabin and the on deck accessed lazarette. The lazarette stores the propane in its own sealed locker that is vented to the sea.
